The appearance of a rash on the skin of a child can be caused by a number of diseases. Some of them pose a significant threat to the baby’s health. The causes of a rash in a child's legs and arms are as follows: infections, vascular diseases, allergies, neglect of personal hygiene rules, changes in blood composition. Allergic dermatitis
The disease appears as a result of skin contact with a specific allergen. Typically, a rash occurs on the palms of the hands, and then spreads to the elbows and other areas. In this case, acne is quite small, have a pink or red tint. If the child has a rash, it is necessary to show it to the doctor as soon as possible. If untreated, the affected skin will soon begin to itch. And small pimples will be filled with serous fluid and covered with a crust. Usually, special ointments are prescribed to relieve unpleasant symptoms.
Measles
A rash on a child’s legs and arms is in some cases a sign of this infectious disease. Moreover, pimples do not appear immediately, but only two weeks after infection. Pink spots are localized on the face, hands, behind the ears, on the legs, covering the whole body in three days. A characteristic sign of measles is severe intoxication of the body.
Rubrophytia of feet and hands
This is the name of a fungal skin disease in which the rash in a child's legs and arms is red. In its place, bubbles, peeling, erosion can form. In this case, the nail plates change color. They become gray-brown. Often, keratosis occurs under the nails.
Rubella
A rash in children (photos are presented on this page) quite often has a viral nature. With rubella, small acne (3-5 mm) in two to three hours simultaneously occurs on the buttocks, legs, cheeks and hands. In this case, the spots spread to other areas quite quickly and, unlike measles, do not merge. The rash lasts only three days, and then disappears. The main symptom of rubella is enlarged occipital lymph nodes.
Pyoderma
A rash on a child’s legs and arms can also be caused by pustular skin lesions. As a result, small papules with purulent yellowish contents are formed. Over time, coarse crusts appear in their place.
Scabies
It is characterized by the presence of a point rash on the hands, in the interdigital spaces, on the legs and surface of the abdomen. A characteristic symptom is itching, worse after taking a bath or shower.
Rheumatic fever
A red ring-shaped rash on the arms, trunk and legs is accompanied by fever, fatigue, loss of appetite. The disease develops after a streptococcal infection (tonsillitis, ear inflammation). This disease can cause some complications in the work of the cardiovascular system. Therefore, at the first suspicion, you should immediately show the baby to the doctor. Scarlet fever
The main sign of the disease is sore throat. On the second day, a rash appears. Punctate elements appear throughout the body, especially on the elbow, in the groin, armpits, legs and lower abdomen. The lesions are swollen, red, burning to the touch. The nasolabial triangle usually remains free of rash.
