Have you ever thought about what society should give a child? Here are examples of the guarantees that any preschooler attending kindergarten has. From birth to adulthood, children have their own individual “privileges”. All the rights of the child (any dad and mother should know them briefly) are set out in the UN Convention.
It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that no one violates them when visiting the kindergarten. If we analyze reality, then in practice the rights of the
child in kindergarten are violated, but none of the violators receive the deserved punishment, because children do not always complain to their parents about their teachers.
What is a convention?
This document was adopted by the UN, and it is far from the only normative act that touches upon the theme of the “Rights of the Child”. European countries pay significant attention to the problem of protecting preschoolers, understanding that at this age they are unable to stand up for themselves. In any civilized state, there are their own regulatory documents that list the rights of the child (in kindergarten, in particular).
What documents regulate guarantees in the Russian Federation?
In our country, there is a Family Code, in addition, the Law on Basic Guarantees of the Rights of the Child in the Russian Federation is in force. These documents are fundamental to social workers who monitor the well-being of families. The rights of the child in the DOE are protected by the Law on Education. There are administrative documents, instructions in which they are also spelled out. Such normative acts prescribe all the rights of a child in a pre-school educational institution. Parents should carefully read them and, if necessary, protect their children based on these laws.
Going to kindergarten
The Russian reality is that enrollment in kindergarten often begins immediately after the birth of the baby, but the child can only go to the institution when he reaches the age of three. The reason was the increase in the birth rate, as well as the closure of many DOWs during the destruction of the USSR. To solve the problem of lack of space, new gardens are being built these days, but their complete elimination is not yet expected.
To protect the basic right of the child in kindergarten, namely the ability of the child to attend this institution, the obligation of the authorities to provide children with a vacant place to receive pre-school education was established by law. As soon as it is your baby’s turn to determine their location, various problems appear in the family. First of all, this is due to the fact that the child is waiting for a new stage in his life, he has anxious feelings, because it is not clear what exactly will happen in a new place, where there will be no dad or mom next to him. The feelings of parents who are expecting the baby to go to a kindergarten are much brighter. They feel concern, sadness, some fear, excitement for their future "student".
One of the serious issues that should not fall out of sight of parents is the rights of the child in kindergarten. Not all modern mothers and fathers have a complete picture of them. Although ignorance sometimes gives rise to very serious mental problems, which are very difficult to correct even after a few years. The content of the rights of the child is a problem that not every father or mother will think about, while educators can take full advantage of it.
Examples of documents - “defenders”
The basic rights of the child, examples of which any caring parents should know, are based on the Convention, the Family Code, and the Law on Basic Guarantees of the Rights of the Child in the Russian Federation. Of course, violations of any of these regulations lead to administrative and criminal liability.
What is guaranteed to preschoolers?
We list the basic rights of the child in kindergarten for parents so that they can protect their children (if necessary). So this is the right of the child:
- For education, as well as for the formation and development of creative and physical abilities. Any preschool institution is obliged to conduct developmental additional classes for children. In addition to walks in the fresh air, games, the baby should be promoted in the direction of mental development. To achieve this goal, teachers working in kindergartens help kids to improve, gradually complicating the tasks they solve (even if at first glance they seem quite simple for adults). In the absence of developing activities, there is reason to argue that the warranty is violated. In our country, there is a large-scale network of preschool educational institutions working around the clock or in the daytime. Educational programs for preschoolers are being updated, special federal state standards have been introduced that regulate the development of children in kindergartens.
- To the game. Based on the development of the intellectual and creative abilities of the baby, you must also remember that the game is important for the child. It is in it that he receives communication skills, so caregivers should pay special attention to diversity that children will not get bored.
- On health and life. Perhaps these are the basic rights of the child in kindergarten (for parents these rights are the most important), because if they are not respected, the life of the baby can be seriously threatened. The Law on Education states that a preschool educational institution is obliged to guarantee life and health to its pupils. If necessary, the baby should be provided with medical care, therefore those institutions in which there is no medical office violate the guarantee of medical care, and therefore must be closed.
- To protect against abuse. Carers can often cry, and even worse, beat children. This is completely unacceptable and should be suppressed by both parents and the garden administration.
- To protect the needs and interests of the child. Children should be given due attention, toys and basic hygiene products - comply with all standards.
- For quality food. The baby's body needs a sufficient, high-quality, full-fledged flow of food throughout the day. If children are given products that have expired, the rights of the child are violated, and parents can file a complaint with the prosecutor.
What is child abuse?
The definition of “ill-treatment” refers to beatings, sexual, emotional or physical abuse (eg screaming, insulting, humiliating). In kindergartens, violations of such a plan occur quite often, and educators consider it normal to yell at children, call them ugly words, and weigh in the face. If you find out that the rights of the child are violated (examples of such situations are not uncommon), that is, some kind of violence was used against the baby, transfer him to another preschool institution.
Can parents protect children in preschool?
It is parents who can and must ensure that the rights of their children in preschool educational institutions are not violated. When choosing a kindergarten, mothers and fathers are required to check the level of qualification of the educators to whom they will lead their children. If the baby after the first visit to the kindergarten at home is naughty, refuses to sleep, cries for no reason, then there is a feeling of discomfort. Parents should closely monitor the baby, if after 3-4 days his behavior does not change, nervousness increases, talk with the teachers. If after the conversation, nothing changes, and the baby refuses to go to kindergarten, look for another preschool for him.
What should parents ask?
Do not forget to be interested in the rules of procedure adopted in the preschool education, ask about the classes that teachers conduct to develop the creative abilities and intelligence of preschoolers. A kindergarten, which values its reputation, always cooperates with parents and even invites them to open classes so that they can see how the child develops, to know what skills are formed in him during creative tasks.
How do parents behave if violations are identified?
First, you need to write in writing to the head of the kindergarten, ask him to stop illegal actions by employees. If there are no positive results, contact the prosecutor with a complaint. An official investigation will be carried out in this institution, its results will be introduced to parents who believe that the rights of their baby were violated by employees of a preschool institution.
The main task is to remember that a baby at the age of 2-3 years will not be able to fend for itself. Of course, today a lot of kids at this age already know how to turn on the TV to watch cartoons or "dig around" in their dad's mobile phone. However, this does not mean that they will be able to repulse an impolite teacher, who strives to scream or strike. Try to ask your child more about events in the garden. Very often, he remembers the brightest pleasant and unpleasant moments, so he can somehow tell you about them. After this, do not postpone active actions until later, so that the child does not receive mental trauma.
