Did you notice that your child is constantly scratching some part of the skin? Have you noticed a pink spot on the baby’s body? Perhaps you, like 90% of your parents, are faced with a rather unpleasant problem - lichen in children. Symptoms of the disease and its variants we will discuss in today's article.
Lichen red
In this disease, on the inside of the hands, in the elbow, on the wrists, as well as on the back, stomach and chest, papules of a rounded shape, having a wax shine and red, purple or raspberry color, are heaped or scattered. Their sizes vary from small grains to peas.
At the beginning of the disease in children, severe itching and scratching in the affected areas are observed. Subsequently, the itching decreases, and the color of the papules turns pale. After they disappear, age spots appear on the skin. In order to avoid the transition to a chronic form, treatment should be carried out only by a specialist!
Ringworm in a child: how to treat
As a rule, animals carry this disease. During the incubation period, which lasts up to one and a half months, the infected person has no symptoms of the disease. Later, itchy, rounded, reddish spots appear on the neck, shoulders, chest and face.
But sometimes not only smooth skin is affected, but the scalp, on which bald spots form. Headache, fever, and general malaise usually join this.
You will not be able to quickly and independently get rid of the disease. A dermatologist will prescribe antifungal drugs and will require regular disinfection of the child’s premises and clothes. This is important because ringworm is highly contagious!
Pityriasis versicolor in a child: how to treat
In contact with the patient or his things, the child may catch pityriasis versicolor. Unlike previous types of disease, it is not accompanied by itching, but only a slight peeling. The spots on the affected areas have a brownish, pale pink or very light shade that turns white after the first tan.
It appears on the upper back, gradually moving to the chest and abdomen. For a more effective treatment, a dermatologist will advise in every possible way to keep the baby's skin clean and dry by applying antimycotic ointments to it.

As a rule, this disease does not need medical treatment and goes away by itself. It does not have relapses - in the body, it develops a stable immunity. The main thing is not to irritate the affected areas with harsh detergents and prevent sunlight from entering them.
Shingles in a child: how to treat
One of the dangerous varieties of the disease under discussion is herpes zoster, which can provoke both overcooling of the child, and overheating or the presence of an infectious disease. It appears in the form of vesicles located along the nerve trunks or branches, and is accompanied by fever, pain and general malaise. This is the most intractable lichen in children.
Treatment: ointment and antiviral drugs that are used only under the strict supervision of a dermatologist! In the case of a complicated course of the disease, the child is also prescribed antibiotics. Electrophoresis, blockade and reflexology are used to block pain.
