A plastic pipe is attached to the base. Its length is adjustable depending on the height of the future chair. The resulting form is also pasted over with papier-mâché.
A putty layer about half a centimeter thick is applied to the surface of the chair and legs. The product will dry within 24 hours. After that, the ball is deflated and pulled out. Putty is applied already from the inside. This layer may be thicker than the outer. The chair will dry again a day.
It remains to polish it with large emery paper, fill the voids with putty and finish cleaning with fine sandpaper. Next, several layers of white paint are applied. It will dry within a day. An epoxy paint is applied on top to fix the white. It dries again about a day.
A hole for the leg is drilled in the chair with a diameter corresponding to a threaded rod, after which a base is installed on it. The leg is fixed - and the process is almost complete!
Upholstery - what to stop at?
