An example of this is the international non-governmental organization Doctors Without Borders, established in 1971, which sends thousands of volunteer doctors to the world's hottest spots every year. In addition, volunteers of the organization conduct educational and preventive activities to combat AIDS and drug addiction. The importance of their activities is difficult to overestimate. On International Doctor's Day, they are the first among those who deserve the most sincere gratitude and bow to the earth.
Day of medical workers in our country
In our country, Medic Day is a more popular event - a professional holiday for Russian healthcare workers. On this day, according to the already established tradition, in medical institutions the results of the contest "The Best Doctor of the Year" are summed up, solemn and entertainment events are held. But Russia adequately meets International Doctor's Day. 2013, for example, was marked by the award of the “Calling” prize in several categories. Medical workers received well-deserved awards for the highest professionalism, selfless work and fidelity to medical duty.
