Bamboo bedding is an innovation in textile production. To the touch it resembles a soft silk canvas, but at the same time it does not have a gloss of satin. Most often, bamboo bedding is packaged in a beautiful branded packaging in which it can be presented to friends and relatives, and this will be a great gift. Usually, the fabrics from which this linen is sewn are given a bright color with oriental motifs.
Studies have shown that bamboo underwear has many advantages:
- it is soft, since the bamboo fiber itself from which it is made is softer than cotton and is close to silk in quality;
- possesses antimicrobial properties and does not cause irritation, it contains the component "bamboo kun", due to which the reproduction of harmful microorganisms is prevented;
- it creates a comfortable environment for sleeping, as the bamboo fiber has a porous structure and absorbs moisture, and also evaporates it;
- Bamboo bedding is quite durable, as natural fiber has high strength for textiles;
- it is natural and environmentally friendly, since being the raw material from which bedding is made, bamboo grows in ecologically clean areas, according to its biology.
This is the fastest growing plant, it does not require any fertilizers to accelerate its development.
Bamboo fiber is actually made from bamboo. For this, wood chips and sawdust of a young raw plant are treated with a strong alkali solution. Thus, the structure of the cellulose is softened and converted into a glue-like mass. It is extruded through the smallest holes with a diameter of not more than 30 microns, made in special plates made of stainless steel or noble metals, into an acid solution. In it, the cellulose filaments harden. Then they are washed with water and dried. These threads have a porous structure and villi. This explains the hygroscopicity of the bamboo canvas.
As a result of research, it turned out that most microorganisms die on the surface of bamboo fiber material , and over time this effect does not wane. Washing also does not affect him. Bamboo grows very quickly, at a speed of 15-20 m per month. Deforestation without damaging the topsoil in order to produce wood does not cause environmental damage to raw materials, as they quickly renew. It is not necessary for such a fast-growing species of plants and the use of various chemicals. Therefore, the production of bamboo cloth is quite inexpensive. As a result, an affordable, environmentally friendly, natural bamboo canvas with hygroscopic and antibacterial properties is on sale.
From it not only make a beautiful canvas, but also make
fillers for pillows and blankets. There is a drawback with bamboo fiber, which is its low tensile strength, especially when wet. Therefore, fabrics are made blended, for example, cotton plus bamboo fiber. The latter gives these fabrics softness. Bamboo bedding is a product made from the most amazing plant on our planet. After all, bamboo, like banana, is not a tree, but the largest cereal on Earth, the closest relative of wheat and barley.
