Conductive grease: application recommendations

Conductive grease is a very important material that is used to eliminate friction between the contacts in the cartridges. Experts say that each such device has its own lubricant. Read more about the above substance below.

Conductive grease: application

The above substance is used in almost all cartridges. Its main task is to reduce the level of friction in places of contact of electricity.

Experts note that the use of the above substance is necessary only in those parts of the technique where it was originally applied by the manufacturer.

The second objective of this lubricant is to provide a better level of conductivity.

It should be noted that some experts believe that conductive contact grease can increase the charge of the drum and magnetic shaft. But the recommendation to do so when a problem such as a dark print occurs does not in reality give a positive result. It is almost impossible to get rid of a dark image and a dark background in this way.

How to prepare a grease cartridge

When refueling the above element, you need to make sure that all its electrical contacts are thoroughly cleaned of dirt and old toner. After all, these contaminants in most cases are the main reason for the not very good charge of the drum and magnetic shaft.

The cartridge contacts are cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a regular dry cloth, always lint-free.

The latter should not contain fibers. It can also be used for cleaning and brushes (also lint-free). Special toner wipes are not recommended for this purpose. They are saturated with mineral oil and should only be used to clean the outside of the cartridge.

Isopropyl alcohol, which contains more water, leaves the surface that is being cleaned moist for a long time. Therefore, its concentration of 91-99% is ideal for removing contaminants on the inside of the cartridge. Experts warn that the above lubricant should only be applied to an exceptionally dry surface. Otherwise, problems may occur with the cartridge.

How to apply lubricant correctly

Conductive grease must be used very carefully. It is applied in a thin layer, the thickness of which is approximately the thickness of a leaflet from a notebook.

As improvised materials, you can use a wooden brush tip. With its help, it is possible to dose the above lubricant well.

If the conductive grease somehow gets on other parts of the cartridge, this may not have a favorable effect on its operation. Thus, print quality will noticeably deteriorate. For example, if a small dot of lubricating powder accidentally lands on the surface of a PCR, a defect such as repeated black dots will occur.

Specialists note that the above lubricant must linger on the surface until the next refueling.

Conductive grease for cartridges: application

Experts note that in no case should you change the grease for the cartridge. That is, to a particular model there is a certain substance. The instructions for use contain detailed information about the conductive grease for this cartridge.

Only after thorough cleaning of the above element can a lubricant be applied. In the event of a cartridge breakdown, conductive grease is applied on the same surface as on the previous part.

Work with the above material carefully. Any negligence in its application can lead to damage to the equipment.
