We can safely say that the guy came very close to his goal.
What was doom guy before?
Doom guy is the collective name for the characters in the Doom series of games. Until 2016, the protagonists were people, occasional witnesses to the breakthrough of the portal or specialists in eliminating local conflicts. Usually a doom-guy is a retired marine who, with the help of a shotgun and assault rifle, is trying to figure out what is happening. Also in the center of the story was invariably a scientific expedition from Earth, which tried to find artifacts or a way to use the energy of Hell.
In any case, the Doom executioner in Doom changed all the ideas about the protagonist. If earlier the protagonist, without hiding, felt fear and doubt in the face of demons, then the new hero was literally created for this battle. So, for example, in Doom 3 appears John Kane, a former major, who was demoted and sent to Mars as a guard. He is moderately muscular, weighs 80 kilograms at the age of 40, but can not oppose the demons. There is no cold weapon in his arsenal, and the Executioner of Doom tears the enemies to pieces, while maintaining complete silence. A full-scale war was launched against the protagonist, but he managed to emerge victorious and even destroy the archdemon of Titan, which was considered impossible. It is noteworthy that the sign of the Executioner of Doom, like his covenant, do not give clues as to what the warrior fought before he acquired the sword and armor. In one of the surviving images, he kills demons with his bare hands.
Armor and Crucible
Praetorian armor is an integral attribute of the Executioner of Doom. No one knows how he looks without her. This is a powerful armor that cannot be pierced with human hands or weapons. The limits of the strength of the armor, as well as the material from which it was created, are unknown. Obviously, the Executioner of Doom is able to endure the strongest overloads in it, the armor withstands catastrophic damage and, apparently, provides the protagonist with everything necessary to continue life, if he needs it, of course. It is known that the Praetorian armor is configured exclusively for the Executioner of Doom and can only interact with its genetic code. Researchers came across this obstacle, having made an attempt to open the defense.
Captivity and sleep
The story of the Executioner of Rock is full of tragedies, but the exact data about his fall is unknown. All that is preserved is excerpts of information. After the name of the hero began to inspire too much awe within Hell, the adherents of the Temple of the Blood attempted to destroy the protagonist, but she was unsuccessful. The ritual was too expensive, and all that was achieved was stasis and eternal sleep for the executioner. Togo was placed in a tomb in the Sanctuary of Qadir. According to researchers, the demons defended the executioner's grave to the last drop of blood. This at first inspired scientists with confidence that there was a very ancient and powerful demon in the sarcophagus, but there appeared a man, or rather, a creature mistaken for a representative of the human race. The sanctuary was completely littered with runic inscriptions that the Ancient Evil lies inside, which should not be released in any case, otherwise it will turn into death for demons and rivers of blood. It is known that for a certain time the Executioner of Doom was awake in stasis, because his dream is described as "eternal torment in fetters."
During the events of the Doom game
Somehow, the Doom executioner woke up shortly after the demon invasion. The Crucible was lost, but its armor was buried nearby, so the protagonist quickly arming himself and continuing his mission of killing infernal critters. Later it turns out that the sarcophagus was printed by Samuel Hayden, director of the research complex on Mars. The culprit of the opening of the portal was Olivia Pierce, terminally ill and concluded a pact with the forces of Hell for immortality. Her forces, the lion's share of the employees of the complex turned into terrible mutated creatures. The executioner travels around the complex until Olivia opens the portal to Hell, where he finds his tomb. Returning to Mars, the Executioner of Roca learns from Hayden that the object for closing the Fault can be found in the antagonist's personal account, he makes his way there and finds the Spiral Stone, which, in turn, tells the protagonist about the Crucible.
Completion
Ultimately, the Executioner of Doom destroys Olivia Pierce, who took the form of a giant spider, after which he becomes a captive of Samuel Hayden. He advocates the continuation of the production of argent energy, as this is to the benefit of the corporation. Taking the sword from the protagonist, Hayden teleports the player to an unknown point, after which the game ends. Throughout the story, the Executioner of Doom did not trust Hayden.
