The cat is one of the most beautiful and graceful animals in the world. Despite the fact that for more than 10,000 years she lives side by side with a man, in some moments the behavior of a cat remains a mystery to us. For example, scientists are still puzzling over which organ they purr. For many novice owners, another such mystery is: “Why are cats stomping?”
In all cultures, these animals are a symbol of comfort and home. This is due to the fact that these furry animals are not so much attached to their owners, as to their habitat. Therefore, stories about how some cats covered thousands of kilometers to return to their home are so frequent. And if you want to lead a cat into bewilderment, the easiest way to do this is by rearranging the furniture in the apartment: the animal, not seeing the usual environment, will fall into stress. Just do not overdo it, because these pets are distinguished by a fine psychological organization.
In general, no matter how much you live next to them, as soon as you decide that you know everything about cats, domestic cats are immediately ready to surprise you. For example, one of my darlings suddenly in her declining years fell in love with stamping on a sweater made of Angora wool and sucking it in every way. But why are cats stomping around? With this act, the pet has stumped me. Subsequently, observing other animals, I found that they do this most often on a warm and soft surface - a plaid, a human body, a pillow, a blanket. At the same time, cats emit a loud purr and express their pleasure in every way.
Felinologists have written many scientific papers on why cats stomp. They all agree that in adult cats instinct from childhood is triggered. The fact is that when the kitten is small and still feeds on mother’s milk, it makes such “trampling” movements with its paws on the cat’s belly to increase the amount of milk during feeding. These movements are called the milk step. In addition, while he is eating, the kitten purrs, because this is how he shows that everything is fine with him, he is in his place, he is eating and is generally satisfied. In response, the mother cat also purrs and licks the cubs.
This instinct persists in a grown cat until the end of life. If you pet her, she can regard it as “licking” a cat-mother, and will begin to “knead” you or a suitable surface with her paws. Another reason why cats stomp may be hunger: thus, they ask to feed them. Well, the main reason for feline carcasses in adults is that they are simply satisfied with their life, they are warm and calm. By the way, the pet can be provoked to trample: if she is happy, just show her an example with her brush, folded like a paw - the cat will gladly respond and begin to stomp on its own. Some animals can even touch their feet in a state of sleep.
As you can see, cats like to puzzle people, not without reason they are also the embodiment of mystery. Some features of their behavior evoke a feeling of tenderness in a person, in particular, the feline “milk step” acts on people.
