Bioshock 2 game ending

As you know, there were three options for ending the Bioshock for game writers, 2 of them can be considered "bad", and only one is "good." To get the first option, it was necessary to empty the very first sister, and to leave the rest alive, for the second ending it was enough to destroy two sisters. The third ending is purely positive: in it, on the surface, the hero calmly survives to old age, surrounded by already matured and little sisters who love him.

How many endings in the game

If in the first part in the final, the players received three scenarios, then how many endings did the developers present to the users in Bioshock 2? In continuation, several options for endings are already available to gamers, and each of them is a kind of summing up the results of all the protagonist's game actions. In total there are six of them in the game, and according to the classification that has already become traditional for the gamebuilding, they are divided into "Good", "Bad" and "Neutral". But the choice of any of them is not limited to a simple mouse click on the desired option in the final of the Bioshock 2 game. The ending, the passing of the game, as well as the need to make decisions at one time or another are closely related.

Plot

A decade after the events described in Bioshock, the city is ruled by Sofia Lamb. Obsessed with the ideas of creating a superintelligence, combining the features of the best inhabitants of the city, she conducts experiments on the infamous Gilbert Alexander, the "father" of the mental connection of daddies and sisters. As a result, he loses his mind and turns into a crazy mutant, and then tries to attract to this Eleanor, his adult daughter.





Of course, Eleanor from the current situation is not happy, and is actively looking for a way out of it. In this she is helped by the already known players in the first part of Bridget Tenenbaum, this time acting as a positive character. In addition, Eleanor is rapidly developing the ability of mental control over her sisters, which also plays an important role.

At this moment, Delta comes into effect, which the heroine remembers as a father. Eleanor revives the protagonist, and he embarks on a long and thorny path to save his daughter. As you progress through the storyline, communicating with other characters and looking for various entries, you can familiarize yourself with the events of the first part of the game, however, for the most complete immersion in the plot, passing the first part of Bioshock is still recommended.

Walkthrough and Choice

The player has to participate not only in large-scale battles (although there are enough of them in the game), but also to meet already familiar characters. And sooner or later you have to make a choice as to whether. how to deal with them according to the classical concept of the Light and Dark side (life or death). Sophia, Gilbert, Stanley, Grace, little sisters - the fate of all of them falls into the hands of the protagonist, and the finale will directly depend on his actions, directly related to the actions of Eleanor, who will absorb all the consequences of the player’s decisions as the game progresses. But at the same time, you have to give credit to the scriptwriters: “ideal” or, conversely, frankly negative decisions of the player will not always lead to the desired ending in Bioshock 2, good or bad. And it becomes clear only when watching the final video. In any case, thinking about how to get the endings of the type you need in Bioshock 2 should already be in the process of passing.





Grace Holloway

The first character, whose fate is in the hands of the protagonist, is encountered by the player in the Poor Shelter, where it is necessary to find the key for further advancement to the main goal of the game. In order to get to it, the hero will have to break through the hordes of mutants that Grace sends. When the main character nevertheless gets to her, he sees an arrogant, evil old woman who is not at all afraid of him. Moreover, this character with his provocative phrases just pushes the player to kill. But there is still a choice, it is at this moment that it remains to be decided whether it is worth killing her or it is better to simply leave, taking the key. What the player chooses will have a direct impact on the ending of Bioshock 2.

If you do not kill Grace, then she, being very discouraged, will begin to relate to Delta differently. Moreover, he will offer two combat vehicles to help, and also warn about an ambush awaiting on the way.

Closer to the finale, when the player controls a little sister, in one of the halls you can come across a statue that will reflect the choice made: when killed, the statue will be made in the form of a Delta, drifting a drill over an unarmed Grace, otherwise in the form of a Delta carrying Grace in his arms .

The next key character the hero will meet is Fontaine Futuristics Gilbert Alexander, now calling himself Alex the Great. By this time, he had already mutated into a huge creature floating in an armored tank. But the worst thing is that in addition to physical mutations, the mind of Gilbert, who has become a real monster, has irreversibly changed, we are eager for bloody murders by something that did not please his wards. He is trying to do the same procedures with the main character, using for this all the capabilities of the security systems of the complex, as well as crowds of mutants and big daddies, which the hero constantly has to shoot.

At the same time, Delta has audio recordings made long before the current events by Gilbert himself, who, even when he was a man, understood that as a result of the crazy experiments, Sofia Lamb could turn out of him. In the process of obtaining the necessary key, these diaries help Delta to get deeper into the complex, while Gilbert asks them to destroy the creature he will have to turn into.

When, after quite long and exhausting clashes with the enemies sent by the monster, Delta finally makes his way to the tank, lures the creature and takes the much-needed key of the Persephone complex, the player has the opportunity to kill the creature, which caused people so much suffering, and it’s to bother him or spare. This decision will also affect the ending of the Bioshock 2 game.

Next to the control panel is a special lever, lowering it, the hero delivers so powerful electric discharges into Alex’s camera that the monster simply breaks it into pieces. Well, if the player decides not to kill Gilbert, you can just leave.

As in the first case, during the management of the sister you can see the statue. After killing a monster, the player will meet a composition depicting the battle of Delta and a huge clam. If you leave life to Alexander, the statue will look like a hero, pulling a man out of the jaws of a monster.

Stanley pool

The third on the Delta list is Stanley Poole, whose life and deeds in the underwater city of Eleanor tells his father during communication sessions. Already this is enough to not at all care about saving the life of this character. In addition, he forces the protagonist to “clean up the tracks” after draining the park: get rid of the little sisters who are actively collecting ADAM from the bodies of the drowned to hide their dark past from Sofia. The fact is that, in addition to its main functions, ADAM allows you to read scraps of media from the media, which is absolutely unacceptable for Poole, since it fully reveals all its dark affairs behind Lamb. That is why he in the past flooded the park, condemning all his visitors, who were witnesses of his activity, to a painful death. And now, when the water came down and the sisters began to extract these cells, there was a serious risk that the truth would be revealed. Therefore, Poole, fearing Sophia Lamb, is forced to make a deal with Delta. The protagonist, in turn, has to accept these conditions, since Stanley Poole is the only one who can open access to the passage separating him from the main goal - saving his daughter.

In this very place, if the user plays the role of saving sisters without killing them, Poole will comment on Delta’s actions with the words:

Cunningly: you make her work, and all the assembled ADAM turns out to be yours! And since you're not talkative, that suits me perfectly!

When Poole finally paves the way for the protagonist, Lamb appears in touch, who, it turns out, has long been aware of all the machinations of Stanley and no longer holds that evil. At the same time, Sofia still considers him a traitor, since he began to help Delta, and convinces the latter to destroy Poole. Accordingly, the choice remains the same for the player: kill or spare. And in this case, the choice made by the player will affect the ending of Bioshock 2.

Similar situations with previous characters, one of the statues can be seen closer to the final: in the case of a murder, the statue will look like Delta holding Poole before a decisive blow, if not to kill, then the hero, holding out his hand as a sign of forgiveness.

One way or another, closer to the end, after most of the enemies are defeated, the protagonist watches as Sofia Lamb tries to strangle her daughter, escaping from Delta, as the life and health of her daughter and father are inextricably linked. In part, she succeeds: Eleanor loses consciousness from a cardiac arrest, and Delta falls into a coma. He is not killed, because in this case he is capable of resurrection, but imprisoned in a punishment cell.

Waking up, Eleanor, using his abilities of control, sends Delta one of the little sisters with a special potion. After being injected with this agent, Delta gains a new ability similar to her daughter’s ability: managing her sisters. Using one of them, he helps Eleanor to get powerful armor and weapons, after which he frees Delta, and they make their way through the crowds of enemies already together.

The final

In the final, the heroes need to get to the surface using a special capsule - the bathysphere. But at the moment when they almost get to the device, an explosion is heard. Eleanor, using his abilities, is transported inside the bathysphere, where Sofia is already located, and Delta, seriously injured by the explosion, can only grab the capsule from the outside.

The bathysphere floats to the surface, and it is at that moment that the ending starts, directly related to the decisions made by the player earlier. However, regardless of the actions of the protagonist throughout the game, the fate of himself remains unchanged: the wounds inflicted by the explosion are fatal.

Endings

To achieve a certain ending, a combination of several factors is necessary. The player is able to influence each of them as they progress through the storyline.

First bad

The darkest ending of Bioshock 2 awaits players who choose life at the end and did not spare anyone during the passage: no characters with whom one way or another to communicate, no sisters. In this case, the “Beloved Daughter”, after observing the protagonist’s far from good actions during the game, will drown Sofia with the fury of the ruthless killer, and will draw a soul from the hero in order to gain his ability to kill the enemies she loved so much, after which she will go to wreak havoc and destruction on the surface.

Second bad

If Delta did not destroy all the sisters, but left all the characters alive, and in the end chose life, then Eleanor Sofia will not be killed either, deciding to leave her alone. She will take her father’s soul for herself, but one should not expect special warmth from her in this case.

Neutral endings

Both neutral endings of the game Bioshock 2 in the passage are achieved approximately the same.

  1. Destruction of one of the sisters and the murder of at least one of the characters, as well as the choice of death in the final. Eleanor, believing that her mother does not deserve mercy and forgiveness, will drown her, and then try to pump her father’s soul to herself, but he will not allow her to take such a heavy burden before death, taking the syringe aside. Delta dies, and Eleanor with tears says goodbye to the dream of living with her father in a normal world.
  2. The murder of one of the sisters, the mercy of all the characters and a similar choice of death at the end. Eleanor would not kill Sofia, intending to leave her alone, which is much worse than death. She transfers the personality of her father to herself, preserving all his memories and feelings.

From the position of the Bioshock 2 developers, this ending is not a good ending, as evidenced by the sad gray tones in the video. Although from a moral point of view it can be considered as such.

Good endings

In order to get a good ending in Bioshock 2, at least all the sisters must stay alive.

  1. If the player did not kill any of the sisters, but did not spare the key characters, then Eleanor will not spare her mother, and then, surrounded by all the rescued girls who give her the big dad’s toy, she will preserve Delta’s identity, watching the dawn with sadness.
  2. The most positive ending in Bioshock 2 is achieved if the protagonist spared absolutely everyone. Sophia does not die - she is destined for loneliness, the saved sisters give Eleanor a toy of a big daddy, her daughter preserves her father’s personality in an effort to continue his good, albeit utopian, business.

Since the localization of the game in Russia was carried out by 1C, the transfer was carried out not only in the form of subtitles, but with the involvement of dubbing actors. This applies both to the game itself and to videos that reveal and complement the plot. Therefore, the player has access to all Bioshock 2 endings in Russian.

Final at Bioshock infinite

In the third part of the game, many players expected the developers to take similar actions regarding the final, but in the end they waited for only one, albeit rather ambiguous, ending of Bioshock infinite. Parts 2 and 1 left the players much more room for replayability.
