The age of Geralt of Rivia, as well as certain physiological characteristics of the Witchers, is constantly becoming the object of heated debate and gossip. This is dictated by the fact that pan Sapkowski did not directly detail this issue to the grains of scientific and applied discipline, leaving room for the imagination of the adherents of the saga. The game, in turn, provides only transparent allusions to certain aspects of Geralt's life, which the gamer is free to interpret in two ways.
Who is the White Wolf?
Geralt of Rivia is the protagonist of the story cycle of Pan Andrzej Sapkowski, who belongs to a special caste of warriors and monster hunters , witches. Each candidate boy who passes the test undergoes biological transformation with several elixirs. They do not turn him into a superman, but give an accelerated reaction, night vision, improved muscle tone and endurance, thereby developing the applicant’s already existing characteristics.
It is because of this that questions arise regarding the age of the White Wolf. Nowhere does the author give direct indications of exactly how old Geralt is. However, given the living example in the form of Vesemir, the witches still get old. It remains to be seen whether this process occurs as in ordinary people or in slow motion, what are its features and whether all witches lose their youth.
The first theory: the "butcher" for over 100 years
The first theory says that Geralt of Rivia, whose age is still not known for certain, also holding the title "butcher from Blaviken," lived for more than 100 years. Confirmation of this thesis lies in a similar statement by Wesemir, as well as facts from the history of Kaer-Morchen. The castle was destroyed by fanatics in 1188, at that time Geralt was already 28-30. That is, adding the current period from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we can assume that the White Wolf is already almost 100.

Opponents of this hypothesis come up with a counterargument, pointing out that a mutagen cannot hide a person’s age so much. Yes, the witches get older more slowly, as indirectly indicated in the final game of the series, but still lose their youth. The age of Geralt of Rivia in 3 parts of the game is hardly 60 years. The Witcher cannot look 30 if his actual “wear” has gone beyond a hundred.
However, taking into account the state of Vesemir in the 3rd part of the series, where he already resembles an old man, Geralt is perfectly preserved, even taking into account the assumptions about his venerable age. If we take into account the fact that pan Sapkowski reported on the "approximately 50-year-old" White Wolf, this theory seems quite justified.
Nennake from the Malitel Temple. Real years of the White Wolf
Throughout both the book series and the games of the Witcher cycle, a character such as Nennake is quite common. She serves as the abbess of the Malithele Temple, is a healer and, apparently, knows Geralt for a very long time. She remembers the White Wolf when he was still a boy; most likely, the witcher is really no more than 45. A Geralt from Rivia, whose age in the game is somewhat more than the mentioned level, is still not an old man, as one can assume, but a man in his prime.
Mathematical approach
Judging by the jerky data from the books, the chronology of the original cycle took place from 1212 to 1268. That is, in fact, at the time when the witcher came to the Island of apple trees, he was already 56 years old. Of course, Geralt himself from Rivia, height, weight, whose age is hidden, does not confirm the veracity of such information, but such a theory seems most likely. In this case, by simple calculations and taking into account his absence as a captive of the Wild Gon for 5 years, as well as the events of the three parts of the series, it can be assumed that Geralt went to the sixty-first year.
In this case, the decision of the development team - to show the witcher full of strength and actually young seems justified. Even with mutagens in mind, it’s pretty hard to assume that the White Wolf is able to cope, for example, with Bestia from the Boxler at such a venerable age.
The current state of the witcher
Despite his venerable age and numerous scars, Geralt looks like a stubborn, physically strong and wise fighter. He is still able to spend the whole day in the saddle or travel through a big penniless in his pocket. Yennifer, for example, in one of the dialogs indicates that she is already 94 years old and she is "not at all a girl", which means that the current state of the witcher may well be the result of a mutation or the intervention of magic. Changes in the body of Geralt for the period when he was a rider of the Wild Hunt, are unknown. In addition, the player in the 3rd part of the series, while studying the works on the removal of the Witcher mutagen, could “add” new abilities to Geralt's body.
In view of this, the exact age of the witcher, as well as the threshold of his maturity, are unknown. It is possible that the finale of the third part, which, however, is not canonical, is the epilogue of the life of a witcher who no longer wants to indulge in the craving for adventure inherent in young people. However, Geralt cannot be called decrepit.
The witcher's height in the current state is approximately 185 cm. He is considered a rather tall man. Given the physique in games, Geralt is rather thin. The same is confirmed in books, where the hero was mistaken for a "miserable rascal" and a "starving wanderer." Probably, with this growth, its weight is a little more than 80 kilograms. Given the accelerated metabolism and increased physical power, the current state of the Geralt's organism can be assessed as excellent. However, this also remains at the level of hypotheses, since it is not known whether elixirs and severe trials had consequences for the witcher's health.
