A higher level of performance in the AMD Radeon HD 6700 line was provided by the model marked 6770. It was also based on the RV850 chip, which had identical technical specifications. Actually, due to such a simple solution, a higher performance of this graphic subsystem was provided. In percentage terms, the increase in speed was 10-15%. But at the same time, the cost of this discrete accelerator proportionally increased by all the same 10-15%.

The fastest graphics solution of the Radeon HD 6700 family was labeled 6790. In this case, the adapter was based on the Barts microprocessor. It was manufactured using a similar technology, but it already included 1,700 million surface transistors. It included 800 stream processors that worked at a frequency of 840 MHz.

This GPU also included 40 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The volume of the video buffer was 1 GB. Moreover, all the same GDDR5 chips were used, which worked at a lower frequency of 4200 MHz with respect to HD 6770. The key feature of this accelerator is the increased bit capacity of the RAM connection bus, which in this case was 256 bits. Due to this, the bandwidth of the RAM of this accelerator was 134 Gbit / s compared to 76 Gbit / s for the HD 6770. Therefore, this adapter already had a 30% advantage over the mid-range device.
