In 1935, on an August night from 30 to 31, A. Stakhanov, a mine worker, set an unprecedented record. The miner was able to mine 102 tons of coal, while seven tons was considered the norm. From this began a movement called "Stakhanovsky."

Only 12 years later, in 1947, A. Zasyadko and D. Onik (ministers of the coal industry) filed a petition for the approval of the new holiday. The first celebration of Miner's Day took place in 1948, on August 29.

Each team is given a song text that she will perform in karaoke. You can ask the audience to sing along to the participants. The theme of the songs should correspond to the spirit of the holiday. For example, let one team sing the folk song “Harness, the horse’s lads”, and the other - “Katyusha”.

After that, you can end the holiday, or you can supplement it with other fun contests, a general feast or a disco.
