Call of Duty is a popular series of games that appeared in 2003. All projects are based on a first-person shooter. Each part is devoted to certain events: existing and non-existent. In one part, gamers will have to fight for their homeland in World War II, and in the next, developers will arrange a virtual Third World War.
Series
Every year, starting in 2003, developers released a new part or addition to the game. As a result, by 2018, 15 games were accumulated. Among them there are major versions, and together with the DLC, 28 projects are presented. Also announced the new main part of CoD: Modern Warfare 4.
The very first project takes the player to the Second World War. He needs to complete solo missions and campaigns. The gamer can get acquainted with the story on behalf of three soldiers to choose from: American, British and Soviet.
The second and third main parts were practically no different from the previous ones. In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the player enters the war of the beginning of the XXI century. OTG-141 appears immediately. For the first time, the project has a full story story, thanks to which a couple more sequels were born.
Fans of the game know that the entire series of CoD can be divided into sub-series. The release of Call of Duty: World at War marked the beginning of the famous Black Ops sub-series. The gamer returns to World War II again. In this project, a zombie mode has appeared.
Then came the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The project continued the story of Modern Warfare. Game events take place in Russia, Kazakhstan, Brazil and even in Earth orbit. Two years later, the third part of this subseries appeared, completing the history of the Russian-American war.
And the year before, Call of Duty: Black Ops was released. In October 2018, 4 projects of this sub-series will be released.
Organization
In the entire sub-series of Modern Warfare games, there was a special organization OTG-141. The developers introduced it as a group working to prevent terrorist attacks. In the game, it was founded by NATO countries. The organization appeared in Call of Duty Online as one of the factions.
Reason for occurrence
The plot tells about the virtual year 2011, when in Russia there was a coup by ultranationalists, and in one of the Arab countries a nuclear bomb was detonated. NATO has put together a council to consider all incidents and try to confront them in the future. So the organization OTG-141 was invented.
Shepard became the leader of the special forces. The U.S. Army General must collect the best soldiers and appoint a commander. He was John McTavish - the captain and fighter of the SAS.
Passage: the first part
In the first part of the game, the grouping is known only in the mission “Above the Clouds”. The player gets on a plane that was captured by ultranationalists. The organization’s goal is to save the Kriegler hostage.
Later it turns out that there is a bomb in the plane, so you need to be extremely careful. The fighters find the hostage, but one of the terrorists remained with him. The player needs to grab Kriegler and jump out of the plane using a parachute.
Passage: the second part
In Modern Warfare 2, a player lands in the mountains of Kazakhstan. Here is an operation involving two fighters OTG-141. They must go to the Russian base to pick up the American satellite module. Only after that they can kill the fighters and destroy their equipment.
Following the event, the player is transferred to a terrorist attack at the Moscow airport. The organization must deal with the elimination of the terrorist Makarov. To do this, you need to fly to Brazil to track down an accomplice. After finding the main enemy of the terrorist, save him and return to the special forces.
It turns out that Makarov is hiding in a shelter. But there are two points where a terrorist can hide, so the organization is divided into two groups. The assault in Russia is unsuccessful. It also turns out that Shepard is a traitor. He kills his colleagues, but later he is overtaken by the second group, which is cracking down on him.
After these events, the OTG-141 (Call of Duty) was officially disbanded.
Passage: the third part
Since the special forces were disbanded, he was outlawed. Only three fighters survived. Nikolai finds Price and Soup and gives them refuge. The soldiers are in India, where Nikolai was already able to find loyalists. But the same Makarov knows about the activities of the former OTG-141. He is trying hard to destroy the soldiers.
The terrorist kills a significant part of the guys from the organization, but Nikolai, Price, Soup and newcomer Yuri find a new refuge. The fighters need to intercept the important cargo of the terrorist, but they do not succeed.
To find the trail of Makarov, they want to capture Varabe. Soldiers carry out this mission and find the trail of a terrorist in Prague. Despite a clearly constructed plan, many traps awaited the protagonists. This operation claimed the life of Soup.
Yuri and Price begin to cooperate with Delta. The player will save President Vorshevsky and his daughter. With this they successfully cope.
After they receive again information about the whereabouts of Makarov. This is a difficult mission, which successfully ends. But only Price is left alive.
Secrets of passing
All three parts of Modern Warfare are filled with a huge number of secrets and Easter eggs. For example, there is information that there was a real prototype of OTG-141. Since this unit is also often referred to as Task Force, there is speculation that Mixed Task Force 151, which previously existed and fought against pirate attacks, could inspire developers to create a virtual organization.
By the end of the third part, the passage leads to the fact that only Nikolai and Price remain alive.
If you look closely at the emblem of OTG-141, you will notice that this is a mixture of various emblems of organizations that also fought against terrorists. For example, sword and wings are already found in SAS, and the skull is familiar with Force. Also, some believe that there is the Shadow Company emblem.
The fact that some members of the organization will be killed could be guessed from the photo of OTG-141. During Operation Kingfish, all members of the group, Crope Soup and Price, are crossed out in the picture. Although both Ghost and Roach were still alive during the passage of this assignment.
Interesting Facts
It is known about OTG-141 in Far Cry 3. In the game, the American spy Huntley says that he is sent to serve in this special unit. Obviously, this is a direct reference to the sub-series of CoD games.
In an online game, this organization is a fraction. Interestingly, this is the only group whose enemies are all the opponents in the game. In addition, regardless of the cards, the model of the hands of the soldiers of this fraction does not change.
If you play in the first person, you will notice that the protagonist has a wristwatch. There is even information that some soldiers carry stores from the AK-47 unnecessarily.
