How did the RKhBZ troops appear?
The day of the troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection is celebrated on November 13. During the fighting in 1918, for the first time in the army, harmful chemicals were used to remove the enemy. In the same year, on November 13, this kind of troops was officially created. They exist to this day. The Russian RKhBZ troops are one of the most sought-after defense units both from the enemy and from the consequences of man-made disasters.
Until 1992, the Russian Chemical Forces were called chemical troops. Despite the fact that the name has changed, the functions and tasks remained the same. All officers and soldiers are called chemical warriors. In the past century, the question of biological and radiation protection of the population was not as acute as it is now.

Functions and Tasks
RKhBZ troops are called upon to conduct operations in the rear. Chemists do not go to the front. Their task is to protect their compatriots from exposure to various toxic substances, to carry out disinfection in the affected area. Soldiers are also trained to properly strike the enemy with the help of toxic chemicals.

Chernobyl heroes
Almost 30 years ago, a tragedy occurred on the night of April 25-26. The explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (Chernobyl nuclear power plant) claimed thousands of lives of not only workers, but also residents. The reason, the extent of the defeat, was hidden for a very long time from people. And the most annoying thing is that they did not mention the names of those dead heroes who managed to eliminate further pollution of the environment. What was so scary there? Radiation adversely affects all organs, affects the entire system of living cells.
In those terrible days, they developed a plan to eliminate the outbreak - an exploded reactor. Until that time, no one had thought about what the radiation hazard was, and how to deal with it, at all. There was no need for this.
Nuclear plants were built in the hope that all workers would abide by clear and rigorous rules during operation. Urgently, scientists developed disinfection methods. It was urgent to clean or enclose
the Pripyat River so that its waters did not spread everywhere. The big trouble was also the rains and the wind. Particles of radioactive substances were easily transferred outside the affected area. It went not only to the Chernobyl environs and the nearest regions. The areas bordering Chernobyl suffered from Ukraine and Belarus.
