Making a table for a birthday is a serious matter, requiring preliminary preparation. After all, the holidays differ from everyday life in that on such days we try to decorate ourselves, the apartment, children and, of course, the festive table.
But how to set the table for a birthday, so that with just a glance at it it becomes clear that the house is a holiday, and the hostess is an excellent culinary specialist, decorator, organizer, and in general a lady who is pleasant in every way?
Firstly, you need to make sure that the table is conveniently located, and all guests can easily sit at it. And for this you need a sufficient number of seats. No wives on the lap of husbands, children on the armrests of parents' chairs. Because no matter what original birthday table you come up with, if it turns out to be uncomfortable to sit at, the impression will be hopelessly spoiled.
How to set the table for a birthday depends primarily on the age of the hero of the occasion. If this is a preschool child, then the dishes should be from the category of baby food: baked or steamed cutlets, cherry tomatoes, potatoes (carved in the shape of a mushroom, baked in the oven), you can make curly sandwiches (cut out figures from sausage with a cookie cutter, cheese and bread). It is best to set the table with a bright festive oilcloth with images of clowns or cartoon characters. Dishes can be taken disposable or plastic, also in bright colors. As drinks, water, juice or homemade compote are best suited.
And how to set the table for the birthday of a child of middle and senior school age? More modest. Here you can get by with pizza or sausages in the dough (preferably home-made). Fresh vegetables and fruits should also be present, but there is no need to craft crafts from them. The main rule: there should be a lot of food, because at this age, growing organisms require regular recharge. Of the drinks suitable baby champagne, water, juice, soda. And do not forget about the cake with candles. Sweet has always been and remains the main attribute of a children's holiday.
And finally, how to set the table for the birthday of an adult who cares about how it looks and what it tastes like, and won't his liver get lousy after a feast?
The first thing to decide is whether you will have a theme or traditional party. With the traditional, everything is clear: a beautiful tablecloth, napkins, sparkling dishes, flowers in the center of the table - all this will create a festive atmosphere of the holiday. Children should be seated at a separate table, at which later they can play or draw.
The theme party table should be decorated in accordance with the main idea of the holiday. For example, if you decide to spend your birthday in the Greek style, prepare a menu in advance and purchase products for it. The essential attributes of such a table should be olives (not Spanish - in brine, but Greek - in oil), feta cheese, fresh wheat bread, wine. Meat and vegetables baked on the grill,
stuffed eggplant, zucchini or tomatoes are well suited for hot dishes.
The table can be covered with a white tablecloth with a blue pattern or a golden canvas (if the theme of the evening is Ancient Greece). In the center, put branches of olive or laurel, flowers in simple vases or pots. White candles will look good , not only on the table, but also on other surfaces - window sills, shelves, stands.
But the main decoration of the festive table is laughter and a good mood. So have fun, fool around, remember your childhood and youth - and then your birthday will be the best!
