Pomeranian is the smallest of the large Spitz family. Someone compares it with a cute little teddy bear, and someone with a fluffy ball. Unusual wool is a feature that distinguishes Pomeranian. Maintenance and care of this charming baby will require some effort from the owner.
Breed history
The first individuals of this breed appeared in the Prussian province of Pomerania. This territory in the north was washed by the Baltic Sea, therefore both its name and the breed name of these cute dogs are associated with the word “pommore”, which means “sea”. Gradually, the main breeding work on the formation of the breed moved to England. British breeders emphasized the development of dwarf forms, as well as improving the coat of animals.
