American Naked Terrier - a gift from nature

The breed American Hairless Terrier is a real miracle, a gift of nature. The story of her appearance began with an amazing puppy born to a smooth-haired rat-terrier female . This newborn creature was completely bald. It is from her, Josephine, that this breed has its source, and the date of its occurrence is considered to be 1972, although the American Hairless Terrier received official status on 01.01.2004, when the standard of this dog was adopted. Since the breed is still very young, it is not widespread and is recognized only in four countries: Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Russia and Slovakia, but enthusiastic breeders around the world are working on its improvement and development.

Appearance

Dogs' growth ranges from small to medium (25 to 40 cm), their weight is also small, obesity is considered a serious drawback and can ruin the dog's show career. The optimal ratio of body height to length is recognized as 9: 10, which creates the impression of compactness and harmonious addition. The American Naked Terrier should be lean with well-developed muscles. Mostly erect ears give the muzzle an attentive expression, and round eyes simply sparkle with the mind and quick wits. The movements of the dog always embody its lively and mobile disposition - light, fast, but full of grace and grace. After reaching the age of two months, the American hairless terrier should not have a coat on the body, except perhaps for the chin, eyebrows and the side of the whiskers. The color of the dog can be absolutely any, most often spotted. With age, the animal darkens, this is due to a change in skin color.

Despite his touching appearance, the American is a full-fledged terrier with all the features of his character inherent. This is a very agile, lively and emotional dog. Courage and quick wit, optimism and even a sense of humor - all these qualities are fully American bald terrier. The dog quickly joins the family and becomes a universal favorite. He is a wonderful companion for children, tireless and quick, he can play with them tirelessly for hours.
