Fans of drawing know that inspiration can sometimes flood at the most inopportune moment: on the road, during a walk in the park, in a cafe, before going to bed ... Using paints in such cases is not always convenient. A brush with a reservoir will help out, which you can buy at any art store today.
Water Brush - what is it?
Watercolor, a jar of water, a brush - this is the set that an artist or a lover of painting cannot do without. The advantage of Water Brush is that it replaces it almost completely, in any case, the last two items for sure. How is this possible?
The main distinguishing feature of the brush is that it can be drawn like a normal pencil. In appearance, it resembles a plastic handle. But instead of a pen, she has a brush, and in the upper untwisting part of the body there is a water tank. This is precisely what helps the artist to do without additional jars and bottles.
Another plus of Water Brush - it can initially be refilled not with water, but with colored ink. And if there are several of them, you get a real full-fledged set for drawing.
How to use a brush with a water tank?
Everything is simple here. It is enough to press the water tank with your fingers during the drawing process, and it will seep down, wetting the brush. So you can apply watercolor paint on paper or shade it, smoothly changing the tone of the primary color to pale. A brush is also suitable if a water-soluble pencil is at hand instead of paints.
The rate of seepage can be controlled: the stronger the pressure on the tank with water, the more the bristles moisten. And, on the contrary, a light touch on the case will allow you to moisten the latter just enough so that you can draw with it, like ordinary watercolor paints. At first, water can pour out a little more than necessary, but over time this problem will be solved by itself.
When finished, Water Brush should be washed. This is also not difficult to do. First you need to remove any remaining paint from the bristles with a regular cloth. Then moisten the brush with plenty of water from the tank and again wipe it with a napkin. The procedure must be repeated several times until the Water Brush is clean. It remains to close the brush with the reservoir cap and remove until the next use.
How to make water brush at home?
A brush with a tank can be made independently. Here are its components: a small oiler made of soft plastic - usually the owners of the sewing machine have these; brush for painting - it should be made of bundles of hair connected by a bunch, fastened with a metal plate and embedded in paraffin. The manufacturing procedure is as follows:
- in the oiler, cut off half of the nose;
- remove the brush with a metal tip from the shaft, and pierce the wax holding the hairs with a thick needle;
- put a brush on the oiler.
The principle of the home-made Water Brush will not be any different from what was bought in the store.
