Pregnancy in a woman’s life is the most joyful and, at the same time, a very responsible period, at which time she begins to plan family life with her new member, which should soon be born. However, in some cases, the family does not manage to see the long-awaited child due to the fact that there is a frozen pregnancy, the reasons for which are quite diverse.
Frozen pregnancy (ST) is the cessation of development and death of the fetus, most often in the first trimester of pregnancy. About 15% of women hear this diagnosis, usually after an ultrasound scan, which indicates a fetal heart failure. An empty fetal egg may also be observed - this is a consequence of the fact that the fetus did not develop initially. Usually, after a short period of time, a miscarriage occurs, in other cases, cleaning is necessary.
Unfortunately, many women do not notice a halt in the development of the unborn child, since they have all the signs of a pregnancy: an increase in the mammary glands, an increase in the uterus, the termination of the menstrual cycle and so on.
Considering the question of why a frozen pregnancy occurs, it should be noted that the causes of this phenomenon are not fully understood. However, there are some factors that contribute to arresting fetal development. These include:
- Genetic abnormalities, which are the most common cause of miscarriage. This is due to life-incompatible abnormalities arising from the wrong combination of genes.
- Hormonal disorders: most often in the body of a pregnant woman there is not enough progesterone or the level of androgens is increased.
- The presence of infections in the body. When a woman's body is infected, the risk of infection of the fetus increases, which can lead to a halt in its development, or death. Of particular danger are chlamydia, rubella, ureplasmosis and cytomegalovirus.
- Conception after IVF. So, a frozen pregnancy after eco is observed quite often and this is due to some features of this method.
- Wrong way of life. This includes frequent stress, depression, smoking, drug and alcohol use.
- Age over forty years. In connection with age-related changes in the body of a woman, a lag in the development of the fetus or its death is often observed.
In any case, the causes of a frozen pregnancy have various causes, most often this is due to a combination of random unsuccessful circumstances. In order for the pregnancy to proceed well, you need a positive attitude and a positive environment.
In frequent cases, it is not possible to detect fetal fading on its own. With spontaneous miscarriage, bleeding or small discharge of blood develops over a period of several days. When a miscarriage does not occur, a specialist examination is necessary to confirm or make an accurate diagnosis. So, a frozen pregnancy, the causes of which are described above, is diagnosed using ultrasound and a blood test. However, there are some symptoms that may indicate a cessation of fetal development. This includes poor health, an increase in body temperature, pain in the abdomen, the cessation of movement of the unborn baby. If any of these symptoms appears, you should consult a doctor.
Thus, the frozen pregnancy has various reasons, and all of them have not been properly studied to date. It is only known that it is necessary to adhere to proper nutrition and lifestyle, to eliminate the use of harmful substances, to create the most favorable environment for the course of pregnancy.
