Perhaps in the near future you will have some kind of fun event where superhero costumes may be needed . To please your child and save a little family budget, you can do it yourself. Try it, it's not as difficult as it seems at first glance. Let's look at a few ways to make a Spider-Man mask. Moreover, you definitely won’t need a lot of time for this.
Paper mask, necessary tools
Any work requires certain tools and materials. Therefore, in order to get the Spider-Man mask from paper, you must first prepare the following:
- plasticine, necessary for procurement;
- PVA glue, which will be divorced with water;
- plasticine knife;
- a rolling pin for rolling plasticine;
- old newspapers;
- blank sheets of paper;
- brushes for glue and paint;
- paint;
- fat cream or petroleum jelly.
Blank forming
Having prepared everything you need, get to work, begin to create a Spider-Man mask.
We take a large amount of plasticine, so that for sure it was enough. Plasticine is thoroughly kneading and rolling. To do this, you can use a round metal ball or an ordinary smooth glass bottle. Plasticine needs to be rolled out in the form of an oval with a thickness of 1-1.5 cm. After this is done, try on this oval on your face to form the shape: shape the nose and outline the location of the eyes. After the main sketches are made, cut out the holes for the eyes and cut off the excess part of the clay at the edges, in accordance with the shape of the face. In the process of forming the main features, periodically help yourself level the surface of the clay with a metal ball.
Periodically “try on” the Spider-Man mask to determine exactly where it is necessary to correct something in order to achieve the desired result. If the initial workpiece turned out to be small in height, then do not worry. You can always grow part of the forehead on the mask from cut pieces of plasticine. To do this, roll the leftovers to the same thickness as the workpiece, attach to the place you want to grow, glue the edges, helping to level out a little with your fingers.
Try on the mask again, smooth it, if necessary, remove the excess parts. Trim the edges and fit your face. Try to keep the thickness of the mask approximately the same over the entire surface of the workpiece.
In order for the mask to acquire the required volume, the part that is above the eyes needs to be slightly narrowed around the edges. Do not forget to make a V-shaped shallow cut at the top of the forehead from the edges to the center. Try on the mask again. Give the desired shape to the eye holes, make sure they are the same shape and are at the same level and distance from the nose. Remember that the eyes that are on the mask of Spider-Man should be much larger than our own.
Try on the Spider-Man mask again to make the nose fit. It is advisable to fulfill it as close to reality as possible.
After the mask is fully completed and has found the outlines of your face, place it in the freezer for 10-12 hours, so that it solidifies properly.
Paper work
Mix
PVA glue with water in a ratio of 2/1. Using a brush, coat the workpiece over the entire surface with greasy cream or petroleum jelly so that the paper does not stick to the workpiece. Then an ordinary newspaper is taken and torn into small pieces to make it easier, you can tear it first into strips. Then the newspaper pieces are moistened in a mixture of water and glue, laid out on a plasticine blank, uniformly covering the entire surface of the mask. Let the first layer dry slightly and apply the second. It is advisable to make 5-8 layers with intermediate dryings. It does not matter if the paper protrudes beyond the edges of the plasticine blank, it will all be removed later. Stick on a few additional layers on the most vulnerable spots of the mask: this is the bridge of the nose and the distance between the eye hole and the edge of the mask.
After all the newspaper layers have been applied, begin to glue up the white paper, which you also tear into pieces in advance. They can be dipped in a container with glue or applied with a brush glue solution. The paper adheres as evenly as possible over the entire surface of the mask. When everything is glued - leave to dry completely and color. The Spider-Man mask, made of paper with your own hands, is ready.
Mask made of cloth, necessary tools
A method of manufacturing a mask from a fabric is much simpler and does not require such time-consuming as a mask made of paper. To work, you need to prepare the following:
- red cloth;
- scissors;
- threads to hold the fabric together;
- sewing chalk to sketch;
- drawing brushes;
- paint or black marker;
- mesh, it is better to take with small cells.
Getting to work
So, we begin to make a Spider-Man mask from fabric. First of all, we cut out two details in the form of a helmet, which corresponds to the shape of the head of the person who will wear this mask. From a fine mesh, two details are cut in the shape of the eyes of Spider-Man. A hole for the eyes is cut in advance in fabric blanks, and the mesh is sewn to them.
Details of the helmet are sewn together from the wrong side, do not forget about the secret lock, which is sewn on the back of the head. This will make it easy to put on and take off the mask.
Using a marker or paints, a characteristic pattern is applied to the mask in the form of a web.
Now you know how to make a Spider-Man mask from different materials for your child. Let him rejoice and have a good time at the holiday!
