What do you need?
In order to stitch the sole with high quality, it is necessary to purchase a specialized hook, rubber glue and nylon threads of suitable thickness. The manufacturer and brand of rubber glue does not have much significance, but the thickness of the threads should be chosen correctly, because too thin will cut through the material, and thick ones will look very ugly and rough. The best would be the average thickness. The color of the threads must be chosen the same as the color of the sole itself, or the contrasting shade should be chosen if the firmware will also play a decorative role.
Buying a boot hook is not a problem either, but you can do it yourself if necessary.
It is also necessary to stock up with an awl in order to make holes in places where it is difficult to make a hook. In addition, it is recommended to prepare a small piece of chalk or soap, which will mark the firmware line. The line then turns smooth and beautiful.
Preparatory work
Before flashing shoes, first you need to clean it and glue the fallen out sole with a special rubber glue. This is done so that the shoes do not get water through the places of the firmware. After far cleaning, the glue does not need to be removed, since they will need to smear the thread in the places of the firmware, additionally sealing the shoes and the seam.
Further, on the sole, it is necessary to draw the future line of the seam, departing from the junction by about one third of the side of the sole. On some shoes, there is a special groove on the sole, making it easier to get an even seam. In this case, you do not need to draw a line.
You can start sewing. How to properly flush shoes, we will consider further. Remember that a seam is best started around the heel.

In the left hand you need to put a soles, right hand to take the awl. Make a hole in the place where the seam will begin. The awl must be driven at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. To avoid injuries when piercing, the hand should be carefully removed from the sewing line.
Then you need to fold the prepared thread for flashing in half. Connect the ends so that they match. On the inside of the shoe through the hole you need to draw a hook, throw on it the loop formed from the threads and drag it so that the ends remain outside. After about 5 mm, a similar hole should be made and the free ends of the thread drawn through it. Pull the loop out and thread the outer end of the thread remaining from the previous stitch. Tighten the loop outside. Make the 3rd hole and repeat the above steps. At the end of the process, sew a pair of reverse stitches to fasten the seam. Tie a capron and trim the excess.

How to make a do-it-yourself hook?
- We make a handle and drill a hole in it with a depth equal to the height of an 8 mm bolt.
- We prepare a bolt that will serve as a nozzle for different rods. To do this, we drill 2 holes in his hat with a 2.5 mm drill - the first is about 2-3 cm deep directed deep into the bolt, the second is on the side of the cap.
- Fasten the bolt to the handle. The more he sits down, the better.
- Thread. We cut the thread with a tap in the side hole under the three-millimeter bolt.
- Cooking the rod. To do this, take a bicycle spoke, cut to the desired length. With a hammer, flatten the end, cut out the notch for the thread in the middle of the flattened area. The groove can be made a small grinder with a diamond disk or file. The notch must be made at an angle and directed to the tip, so that it is convenient to grab the thread. After the notch is done, grind the point. To get rid of small burrs that will interfere with work, take kapron thread, grease with grinding paste mixed with a drop of machine oil. Clamp the rod in a vise with its tip up and hook the thread on the notch. Drive the thread from side to side for about 20 minutes. The groove will have a perfectly flat surface.
The hook is ready. How to flash shoes is described above.
