Polycotton is a fabric, the structural basis of which is mainly cotton with a partial presence of polyester, through which the qualitative characteristics of the fibers of cotton materials are improved by an order of magnitude. It produces bedding, pillows, mattresses and other products of this kind.
Using new technologies for the production of fabrics with the addition of a certain amount of polyester to the base of natural cotton, a completely unique material was obtained at the beginning of this century, which has become quite popular among customers as home textiles and is still popular with many housewives. Polycotton is a material in which the percentage of cotton and polyester is different, and the best option for household needs is one that contains up to sixty-five percent of cotton. Sometimes a polycotton has fifteen percent cotton in its composition, which is more like its artificial origin, where natural qualities are hardly traced. But in that, and in another case, the fabric does not become less practical, convenient and comfortable.
Polycotton: what is it in terms of quality?
The polyester content in the fabric gives some quality characteristics that are not found in pure cotton materials. Polycotton fabric eliminates shrinkage processes and never wrinkles. The internal structural structure remains at the same level even after several washing cycles with a minimum consumption of detergents (washing powder). Due to the presence of artificial fibers, the properties of bedding in an hygienic way increase by an order of magnitude. Polycotton fibers firmly hold dye molecules inside themselves, which makes this material less susceptible to ultraviolet radiation and does not lose its attractiveness even after prolonged use.
Polycotton is incredible softness
When feeling the polycotton, pleasant sensations arise, while the higher the percentage of cotton, the more comfortable and convenient the material to use. You should be aware that
synthetic fibers located in the fabric pass moisture very poorly. It follows that a high percentage of polyester in bedding leads to some discomfort during sleep.
Color and application
They predominantly stain this fabric in bright colors with patterns of varying complexity. Like linen for a bed, this material looks quite interesting, and most importantly - attractive. But many housewives also use it for other purposes: they are engaged in sewing curtains,
decorative pillowcases and bedspreads. The trading network also has mattresses whose lining is made of polycotton.
Although polycotton is a thin material, it is distinguished by high practicality, and many housewives liked the low price, and recently they have given it more preference than satin, calico or calico. Along with many advantages, there is a drawback for polycotton fabric - it is rolling after several years of operation.
