There are holidays that have recently begun to be celebrated, but they are important for the country. One of them is Oilmen Day, which falls on the 1st of September Sunday. It is annually waited by workers in the oil, fuel, gas industry.
From the history
To make a fire, people first used firewood, then coal. Our ancestors used oil for embalming mummies and in construction. In the 18-19 centuries, “black gold” was a long-lasting oil for church lamps. The first oily liquid was brought to Moscow from Ukhta during the time of Boris Godunov. Then it was called "fire water."
The turning point in the history of the fuel industry was the construction of the first tower in Baku: oil flowed. Then it began to be cleaned of impurities and used for
kerosene lamps.Despite the development of the oil field , coal is used as a fuel in many industries. This is due to the fact that obtaining oil and gas is not easy: oil and gas fields are located in difficult natural zones (Siberia, the Far East, the Far North). Oilmen Day is a holiday of courageous, strong, purposeful people who are able to overcome obstacles and work in difficult conditions.
Oil industry in Russia
Oil production is one of the most important sectors of the heavy industry. It includes well drilling, oil and gas production, exploration of oil and gas fields, oil transportation through pipes.
Russia is one of the world's leading oil and gas producers. Oilman Day in Russia is a professional holiday for those specialists who are constantly developing and introducing new methods of extraction, processing and transportation of oily liquid. New oil and gas pipelines are being built in the country.
The extraction of black gold is necessary not only for obtaining fuel: crude oil is sent to construction to strengthen sand dunes, and refined to chemical production for the manufacture of raw materials and motor oils. The product is also needed to create plastics, dyes, synthetic rubber, detergents.
In the Russian Federation, the hard work of people employed in this industry has always been valuable, so it was decided to establish the Day of the Oil Worker. Every year, organizations congratulate their employees and reward the best specialists. Films telling about the difficult share of miners of "black gold" are shown on television. The holiday unites people of this profession, helps them share experiences and serves as an occasion for meetings.
With a wide scope in the northern cities of our country is celebrated Oil Day. What date? Always on the first Sunday of autumn. The date was not chosen by chance: September is the time of fuel preparation for the winter season. Surgut, Nefteyugansk, Nizhnevartovsk, Khanty-Mansiysk, Pykht-Yakh and other settlements traditionally hold sports competitions, quizzes, and performances by city groups. The administration invites pop artists to the cities.
Oil, coal, gas are necessary for every country. Once, the holiday was celebrated on the territory of the USSR. After the collapse, some states retained the solemn date, others postponed to another day. We celebrate Oilmen Day with us in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova.
