Cases of screen failures in modern smartphones occur more often than owners of equipment would like. One way or another, at some point, almost everyone has to replace this part of the gadget, but someone is looking for a workshop, while others seek to fix it all on their own. And the information on how to choose adhesive tape for the touchscreen (double-sided) is useful to them.
What is it used for?
This consumable helps in repairing the smartphone display. With it, the screen is fixed inside the case, so a poor-quality product can cause damage. The same, however, applies to squinting masters who urge not to use adhesive tape for such painstaking work. And in vain, since it is the simplest and most reliable to use. The main thing is to choose the right product.
Types
Double-sided tape for a touchscreen happens with and without a base. The last option includes adhesive transfer sheets, but working with them is quite difficult. They are not recommended to be used without experience, since sometimes the canvases have to be cut off or other “dances with a tambourine” arranged in order to fix the display properly.
Most often, they are manufactured and used in the assembly by the touchscreen manufacturers themselves or by Chinese manufacturers. They immediately stamp sheets of the desired size and shape, which greatly simplifies the process. Especially often the creators of replicas of "apple" gadgets turn to such products.
Double-sided tape for the touchscreen with the base gives a much greater choice. But for the first time it is better to take thin and transparent, with high resistance to temperature extremes. Beginners in the repair business can stock up on such material, since it is a pleasure to use such an adhesive element. It is universal and differs only in the width of the roll, and the footage is always the same (50 m). Of course, with such indicators, the smartphone owner will not be able to spend volume over a lifetime if he does not begin to repair equipment to everyone.
Double-sided acrylic tape
For iPhone touchscreen, it will work best, but it will fly into a penny. A roll of this material costs 33-38 euros (~ 2000-2500 rubles for December 2016), but the owners of the "apple" technology do not get used to high prices. To fix their devices use adhesive tape with the highest heat resistance (270 degrees Celsius).
However, there were some difficulties. The technically possible minimum roll width is 7 mm, although repair requires a tape half as small. Therefore, in some cases, you have to cut the adhesive tape for the touchscreen double-sided manually.
Terms of use
In some cases, the material does not really firmly fix the display, but this only happens if the instructions are not followed. Therefore, if in the repair shop the client is convinced that scotch tape is an unsuccessful solution, you can safely discard such an organization.

- Degrease the surfaces to be fixed. For these purposes, it is better to use isopropyl liquid alcohol (it will not work from cylinders).
- Allow the parts to dry. This usually does not take more than 10-15 minutes.
- Apply adhesive tape to the display evenly; it must always fit snugly against the surface. Bubbling and oblique overlapping must not be allowed; utmost accuracy and perfectionism are the most important in such a matter.
- Upon completion of the fixing procedure, you can use a building hair dryer - this will speed up bonding.
As a rule, beginners prefer branded adhesive tape 3 M (double-sided) for a touchscreen, but choosing it is not necessary. In the end, no one will forbid experimenting.
