How to calculate ovulation?

You can reflect on the meaning of life and the destiny of a person as much as you like, but it is hardly possible to dispute the fact that a woman is commanded by nature to be a mother. Pregnancy adorns a girl, makes her happy and allows her to fulfill an important mission - to give life.

The attitude to pregnancy in modern girls and women is somewhat different from the ideas of our mothers and grandmothers. It is unlikely that our ancestors asked themselves questions such as “how to calculate ovulation in order to get pregnant” (most likely, the term itself would have genuinely surprised them), but a rare family had only one child.

Today's youth strives to act reasonably: you need to immediately prepare the ground for a prosperous life (home, car, etc.), make a career and, of course, find the right partner in life. The path to achieving all this is quite a long one, and therefore pregnancy is fading into the background. So that the birth of a baby does not become a burden and a cause of dissatisfaction with life, it is important to know which days of the cycle the possibility of conception is minimal.

Conversely, if a couple wants a baby, you need to know when it is highly likely that you can get pregnant.

The reference point in both cases is ovulation. What it is? Ovulation refers to the exit from the follicle of an egg capable of fertilization. If during this time the egg meets a sperm (they retain their viability for about seven days), then conception is likely to occur. A woman can become pregnant in a ten-day period, which is counted from the date preceding ovulation for 2-3 days. Theoretically, on other days, a woman cannot become pregnant, since there is no egg that can be fertilized.

That is why the ovulation period is considered a guideline for conception .

How to find out when the right moment is coming? How to calculate ovulation?

To understand the ovulation calendar, it is not necessary to be a student at a medical university. There are several ways that will help determine the time of maturation of the egg and its exit from the follicle:

1. Calculation according to the menstrual calendar.

2. Using an ovulation test.

3. Measurement of basal body temperature.

4. Ultrasonic control of egg maturation.

· (1) How to determine ovulation at home? An excellent assistant in this situation will be the calendar of the menstrual cycle, which every girl should have. This method is suitable only for those girls whose cycle is stable. We count 14 days from the first day of menstruation, so we find the most probable day of ovulation; two days before this date and two subsequent days are also at risk, that is, the possibility of becoming pregnant during this period is very high.

· (2) You can use the test to more accurately calculate the date of ovulation. It is a strip with a luteinizing hormone-sensitive indicator. By lowering the test into a container with urine, you can determine whether ovulation has occurred (two strips) or not.

On normal days, the content of luteinizing hormone (LH) in a woman’s body is small, but there is a surge in LH before ovulation, the highest point at the time of exit of the egg follicle.

To conduct a test to determine when ovulation occurs, it is best to use morning urine (but not the first portion).

With an irregular menstrual cycle, it is impossible to calculate the date of ovulation with full confidence, such calculations will most likely be a game resembling Russian roulette. For women whose cycle cannot be called stable, it is better to use the following methods:

· (3) Basal temperature should be measured (rectally) daily. The inconvenience is (in addition to the prohibition on sudden movements upon waking up and the prohibition on getting out of bed before measuring), it will take about two to three months to build a scale of temperature measurements, where jumps characteristic of the desired period will be noticeable.

· (4) There is probably no more accurate way to calculate ovulation than an ultrasound control of egg maturation. This method allows you to accurately monitor the aging of the follicle, its movement from the appendages through the fallopian tubes and, of course, the process of rupture of the follicle and the release of the egg, ready for fertilization. True, this is the most troublesome way: you will need several procedures (7/8 day of the cycle, 12 day of the cycle + one / two ultrasound as prescribed by the diagnostician).

Knowing how to calculate ovulation, you can control your body's ability to bear children and influence the process of conception using “profitable” days. Do not be sad if you do not get pregnant at first. Repeat the effort and your patience will be rewarded with the birth of a tiny creature for which you will be ready for anything.
