Non-developing pregnancy. Treatment, consequences

An undeveloped pregnancy, or as it is also called a frozen pregnancy, is a phenomenon when the development of the embryo stops. This happens at different times, most often in the first trimester of pregnancy, but fetal death can occur much later. Unfortunately, the embryo is already impossible to save, but to know about it is simply necessary, otherwise there is a danger to the life of the woman herself.

A non-developing pregnancy is determined at a reception by a gynecologist or with the help of ultrasound diagnostics. Therefore, it is very important to monitor your health and visit doctors on time. There are cases when, during a frozen pregnancy, a woman notes a return to her previous appetite and a decrease in toxicosis. In addition, the uterus continues to grow, since the placenta also grows. And only in some cases, women noted weak spotting from the vagina.

Most often, an undeveloped pregnancy is the result of serious genetic disorders. Everything is based on the principle of natural selection: a fetus with serious pathologies is not able to be born healthy and live a full life. Herpes, toxoplasmosis, chlamydia can also cause fetal freezing. Still abuse of cigarettes, drugs or alcohol can completely stop the development of the embryo.

Before subsequent pregnancies, you should consult a specialist, because each such case should be investigated separately, because in addition to general reasons, there are individual factors that are associated with the woman’s immune system, pregnancy and other features of the female body.

With such a phenomenon as an undeveloped pregnancy, the treatment consists in one very important point - it is necessary to extract the fetus from the uterus as soon as possible.

This surgery is performed under general anesthetic anesthesia (curettage of the frozen fetus from the uterine cavity) or vacuum aspiration. In cases where the size of the uterus is not more than an eight-week pregnancy, abortion with mifepristone (medical) is possible. After the fetal egg has been removed, antibiotic therapy is prescribed by specialists and a careful selection of contraceptives is performed. Well, subsequent pregnancy is recommended only after six months or a year.

A non-developing pregnancy can have different consequences. The dead fruit breaks up, the breakdown products are absorbed into the blood and poison the body with toxic material. Also, the decay products of fetal tissues and the placenta give tissue thromboplastin, which enters the bloodstream of the mother and causes thrombotic complications and bleeding. Severe uterine inflammation is a threat to all subsequent pregnancies. Basically, the consequences of a frozen pregnancy often depend on the causes of its occurrence, but what events will follow, unfortunately, can not always be predicted.

Health is restored after a frozen pregnancy for a very long time. You need to eat right, have a lot of rest and more to be outdoors. Since the emotional state of a woman during this period is very unstable, in such situations, close people should give her maximum attention.

If a non-developing pregnancy was not the first time, then this couple should undergo a genetic examination. There are times when, by coincidence, the parents have the same gene, which leads to a mutation in the child.

Unfortunately, any woman can face this phenomenon. And this does not always indicate that she has serious problems in the body, because sometimes it is enough to endure severe stress or a viral infection.

The main thing is to remove all risk factors during subsequent pregnancy , and the chance of a safe birth of the baby will be much higher.
