Dial scales: characteristics, description, device, repair and operation manual

In the modern world, scales are very popular for various uses, as they help people to accurately determine the weight. There are several types of such devices, each of which has its own principle of operation. For a long time, dial scales have been popular. This is a very important device, which is used mainly in trade and warehouses for weighing food and other various goods.

Dial scales

Such scales are very convenient when selling a wide variety of goods. When products are placed on them, you need to follow the scale. If it is within, then in this case weights are not required, and they quickly return to their original position. A huge plus is that there is a two-way dial, allowing both buyers and traders to see the weight of the goods.

Varieties

Dial scales are different and are used for different types of goods. They can be either with a sector or with a dial. The dial is mainly used for weighing food, often for fruits and vegetables in stores or in the market.

Scales of the VNTs-10 type are used for weighing a small capacity. The heaviest weight for weighing reaches 10 kg.

Characteristics of dial scales

The scales are a load receiving system with two platforms: a small one for weights and a large one for goods. The main component of the lever tabletop dial scales is an equal-arm lever called a rocker. It consists of two uniform bands. In the middle of this lever there are 2 support prisms, and at its ends there are load-receiving prisms, on which the weight lever is supported on one side and the load lever on the other.

The load lever is combined with a quadrant. It acts as a jointed arm and supports a support prism and pillows, which are inserted into the bracket of the scale body and can rotate at the right angle.

A counterbalance and a stabilizer of the container are fixed on it, and two accompanying arrows accompany it. The container stabilizer is a nut that moves along a helical shaft. It is intended to precisely set the 2 arrows to zero, after releasing the scales from repair or production.

Under the weight pad there is a calibration room. There are metal scraps that are needed to find the balance in equilibrium. The vibration damper is located under the commodity platform and consists of a cylinder, which, in turn, is attached to the beginning of the balance with two bolts. There is also a piston with two clearances, a rod, a spring, a cap, a cap, as well as a fluted nut. The rod is fixed to the load lever. Oil is poured into the cylinder of the vibration damper until the end of the annular protrusion.

If the adjustment of the damper is correct, then the arrows can make several fluctuations when weighing in different directions. In order to install the mechanical dial scales horizontally, a liquid level is required. When the air bubble is located in the middle of the ring, they are installed horizontally.

Scales RN-ZTs13U

The scales without the use of weights include dial scales -13. They are needed in order to weigh goods weighing up to 3 kg. The balance has a tar compensator with a tare compensation range from 0 to 400 g.

The structure includes a housing where the main lever is strengthened. The load-bearing lever is based on the end of the main lever, while at the top it is connected to the string, which keeps it from turning over.

Scales RN-10Ts13U

What are they characterized by? Dial scales RN-10Ts13U are intended for use in trade for weighing various goods. They have the largest weighing limit - 2, 3 and 10 kg. When weighing within the scale, weights are not required, since they quickly come into equilibrium, and thanks to the double-sided dial, both the seller and the buyer see the result of the weighing.

Rules for using weights

Basic weighing conditions:

  • If the product has a small weight and it is within the scale, then the use of weights is impractical.
  • Using weights becomes a necessary process if the product is heavy and significantly exceeds the scale. Weights are placed in place for weights. The weight of the product is calculated by adding up the total weight of the weights with the scale.
  • When weighing goods, you need to use fewer weights.
  • Weight can only be determined by net mass.
  • When selling goods, you must first weigh the tare weight and only after that the goods themselves so that you can determine the net weight.
  • On the platform of the scales you can not stack the goods and even more so cut anything, since you can spoil the scales.
  • It is forbidden to lay different objects under the legs of the scales.
  • You can not weigh the goods on scales that are not protected from wind, snow and other weather.
  • It is categorically impossible to tie weights to scales for weight gain.
  • Weights can only be used for weighing. For other purposes, in no case should they be used.
  • It is also forbidden to weigh the goods on scales below the norm.

Safety rules

Be sure to read the safety rules:

  • The scales are installed only on a flat surface. This is very important, and it is desirable that they are at a distance of about 14-21 cm from the edge of the counter;
  • Twisted legs should be located at a height of not more than four centimeters;
  • Weights may be on the left of the scale.

Calibration of weights

Before checking, you must first understand whether the scales are working. They should have reinforced scales, and the numbers on the dial should be clearly visible. Arrows should be at the same level and stop after 3-4 fluctuations. Installed should only be level.

It is customary to check the sensitivity of the level by placing an iron plate under the legs. The plate thickness should be about 1 mm.

Stability can be verified as follows. The arrow should slowly return to zero division. In no case should there be spaces between the arrow and the beginning of the scale. Consistency must be verified when the state of the balance is not loaded. On the platform for the goods, it is necessary to place such a weight so that the arrow can remain at zero. Sensitivity is believed in the same way, but load must be added to this special weight, and most importantly, this mass should be equal to a smaller division of the scale. Ideally, the arrow should deviate by only 1 division.

The accuracy of the dial balance is determined by placing weights weighing 500 grams or 1 kg. In this case, the balance must show the correct weight.

Breakage

The dial scales (we examined the device in the article), unfortunately, break frequently. They may not work at all, or they may work, but not quite right, that is, it is incorrect to measure weight. At some point, the scales will simply stop showing the exact weight, and this is very inconvenient when selling food and other goods.

Also, those products in which the seal of the state calibrator is broken can be considered defective. The most significant reasons for the breakdown of the scales are the mechanical effects on them and, in some cases, just factory defects.

Such actions include blows to the site for the goods and to the body of the scales. You can also damage the scales when they fall. The scale has a very sensitive sensor, and it converts the weight of the load into an electrical signal. Thus, a blow to the scales can disrupt his work or simply spoil him. Other various damage may also occur.

You always need to know how to use the dial balance correctly, because improper use helps ground the balance. Like any system, the balance can fail as a result of power surges, and nothing can be done.

Sometimes a problem like manufacturing defects occurs. Very often unpleasant situations occur that in the production they made a mistake and did not check. Thus, the goods can get on the counter for subsequent sale. But most often this problem can be detected before putting the scales on sale, so there are very few people who come across defective goods.

Scale Repair

All devices can be repaired, and dial scales are no exception. But repair can be given only if they underwent a change in parameters. In this way, the balance is calibrated. For this setting, you do not need to change parts and blocks of the scales. This can be called moderate repair.

It is worth considering that you still have to open the case, since any repair is done only this way. Basically, the verification seal is removed and after repair they must be sent for state verification.

Guarantee

In trade, there is one main rule - always under any circumstances give a guarantee on any product. Warranty is a very necessary thing that helps in case of device breakdown. But we must not forget that it can only help if the failure occurred not through the fault of the buyer, and provided that its term has not yet expired.

Repair under warranty is absolutely free. The buyer can pay only a small amount of the parts and parts that were used. But this rarely happens, because most of all guarantees are subject to calibration only.

If the scales broke due to the fault of the buyer himself, then free repair will not be carried out, and you will have to pay money to the service center. The type of repair is determined precisely by this after-sales service. Sometimes the scales are sent to the factory, where the manufacturer will say exactly whose fault the fault occurred and will help to correctly resolve this issue.

Sooner or later, any product and any system can be damaged and not even be repaired. But still, the term of use can be extended by proper handling of the goods. With normal use and the absence of factory defects, the goods can last a very long time.
