Dostoevsky about how God gave the task to a little angel - to cut down the prettiest Christmas tree in the New Year’s forest and find a child worthy on the ground this gift. The poem tells about the difficulties of the search, about how a divine gift saved a dying girl.
The presented fairy tale preserved the storyline of the poem, replacing the Christmas tree with a bell. The performance, to the creation of which the best theatrical forces of the capital were involved, was preceded and continued in the lobby.
