Cough inhalation

Inhalations can be done in simple old ways: breathing over a kettle, saucepan or using modern nebulizers and inhalers. But in any case, when performing inhalations during coughing, it is necessary to observe the rules for their administration:

1. The procedure can be taken one hour before a meal.

2. After the end of inhalation, it is not recommended to talk, sing, take food for an hour.

3. During inhalation with a runny nose, breathe only through the nose, and with cough and sore throat, inhale through the mouth, and exhale through the nose

4. Do not combine oil and steam inhalations.

5. Session time from 5 to 15 minutes.

6. A course of treatment recommends 10 treatments.

7. If you are prone to allergic reactions, it is imperative to conduct a preliminary test for the sensitivity of essential oils and infusions on the elbow, look at the reaction after 20 minutes and after a day.

There are several types of inhalations, such as: steam, heat and moisture, oil inhalations and aerofitotherapy, halotherapy, aeroionotherapy, which are varieties of inhalations that are gaining popularity.

Cough inhalations are very useful with a nebulizer, which is applied topically with an aerosol of small particles of drugs that can penetrate deep into the bronchi and lungs. Such an inhaler is convenient and easy to use, it has a mask or tip that allows you to receive treatment more comfortably and pleasantly.

For sore throats, steam inhalation is used. To do this, you can brew oregano, chamomile, sage, thyme, taking 1 tbsp. l herbs in 1 glass of water. And you can use volatile essential oils, such as: eucalyptus, pine oil, menthol or fir, 10 drops per half a glass of water, heat to 55-65 degrees and inhalation. You should not breathe over boiling water, you should always cool the broth.

At elevated temperature, purulent tonsillitis or swelling of the inhalation are contraindicated.





Steam inhalations for coughing are done with the mother and stepmother, thyme, ledum, elecampane. But it is much more effective to use warm-humid inhalations with Borjomi mineral water, with a mixture of chamomile, sage, eucalyptus, calendula and St. John's wort flowers or from prepared pharmacy tinctures of calendula or chlorophyllip to reduce cough and sputum.

With a sore throat, hoarseness and loss of voice, oil inhalations will be effective, for 5 minutes, for 7 days. To do this, use peach, eucalyptus, sea buckthorn, camphor oil, propolis with olive oil. All of them perfectly remove dryness, soften the mucous membrane and protect it from various irritations.

It is good to carry out warm-humid inhalations during cough and runny nose with honey, which dissolves in warm water 1: 5. This solution can be filled with a nebulizer and sprayed into the nose and throat for 10 minutes. First, you need to inhale through the nose, and exhale through the mouth, and then vice versa. The temperature of the solution used should be no higher than 38-40 degrees. Contraindications for inhalation are tuberculosis, pleurisy, acute pneumonia and severe heart disease.

Inhalation with a cough of a non-allergic nature can be carried out in the form of aerophytotherapy. To do this, in the room you can put bottles with essential oils of eucalyptus, coriander, basil for an antibacterial effect, you can breathe over steam with water, into which to drop a little essential oil, you can use an aroma candle and inhale fragrances for an hour. Contraindications to such sessions are severe diseases of the heart and lungs, pregnancy and individual intolerance. Such procedures are carried out very carefully for children.

During pregnancy, cough inhalation is carried out with different herbs. So, with a dry cough, they use sage, linden blossom, chamomile, and when coughing with sputum, a leaf of lingonberry, ledum, plantain, borjomi or soda solution is used.

Inhalations are performed with compression and ultrasonic nebulizers. The latter are very convenient for children, but we must remember that when they are used, many drugs in them are destroyed by ultrasound.
