Dysbacteriosis in infants

The main problem that worries parents after the birth of a child is the state of his digestive system. And there is nothing surprising in the anxiety of parents, because the further development of the child will depend on how he eats, and here the functioning of the intestine plays a big role. One of the most difficult intestinal diseases in infants is dysbiosis. What is the reason for the development of this disease?

While in the mother’s stomach, the baby lived in a sterile environment for 9 months. Having appeared on the light, its organism gradually begins to inhabit a wide variety of microorganisms. Many microorganisms enter the body of the child during passage through the birth canal. Part of the baby gets from the mother along with colostrum and breast milk, and part comes from the environment. As a rule, the main microorganisms are colonized in the intestine and take an active part in digesting food and generating energy. All would be nothing, but only these microorganisms are of two types: one, positive, must be located in the intestine, and others, undesirable, that is, their presence is not useful. On the contrary, under adverse conditions, for example, a child has low immunity, poor appetite, there is an infection, their number increases several times, and they become dangerous. Normally, lactobacilli, bifidobacteria and E. coli should predominate in the intestines of the infant . It is these microorganisms that are a protective factor in the intestine. In addition, they positively affect the immunity of the child and produce in the intestines natural vitamins - B12, B6 and folic acid. At that moment, when the ratio of beneficial and harmful microorganisms is violated, and the latter becomes larger, and dysbiosis appears in infants. There are several forms of it, and only a doctor can identify it after passing the necessary tests. I note only that parents may not notice dysbiosis in a child: as such, signs will simply be absent. Usually, such a latent form of dysbiosis is detected by chance when a child is tested for a completely different study. But most often, dysbacteriosis in infants has pronounced symptoms: the child is tormented by colic and increased gas formation, there is loose stool with the presence of green mucus. Symptoms of dysbiosis include nausea, constipation, decreased appetite, poor sleep, and a general decline in well-being. In such cases, you should not treat yourself, but call a doctor. Only he will be able to identify the real cause of this condition of the child and prescribe the appropriate treatment. Dysbacteriosis in nursing children can be cured, since there is no shortage of drugs for this disease today.

Doctors believe that dysbiosis in infants, it can be prevented if parents follow several simple rules in the first days of their baby’s life. First, after childbirth, the baby should be immediately attached to the mother’s chest. Colostrum is a very important food for a newborn, because it is with it that a large number of beneficial microorganisms will enter the baby's body. The bodily contact of the mother with the child also favorably affects not only the development of the baby, but also the colonization of the intestines with microorganisms. And most importantly, dysbiosis in infants can be avoided by breastfeeding at least the first month. Here, as they say, the benefits of breast milk need no comment. It also manifests itself in the supply to the still fragile body of the necessary vitamins, nutrients and microorganisms. All the same doctors believe that no expensive mixture can replace mother’s breast milk. True, if mother does not have milk, then she will have to switch to the mixture, but before that it is advisable to consult a doctor about the choice of artificial nutrition for the infant.
