What is a restart and how to do it right

Restart, what is it and how does it happen? Rebooting a computer is an operation that any user knows about. Moreover, if you want to troubleshoot or install new software and hardware, the first thing you need to do is reboot the device. What happens to the computer during reboot? Read on to find answers to your questions.

Manual reboot

Restart, what is the word? In the understanding of the average user, it is associated with rebooting the PC due to some kind of problem in its operation. For example, you had a very large number of applications running, after which your computer could not cope with the load and crashed. This is very common, especially if your PC is weak in performance (in this case, the likelihood that this will happen is higher than that of a person with a more powerful computer).

To solve the problem, it is enough to disconnect the PC from the power, and then turn it back on, or press the "Start" button on the system unit. It is also worth paying attention to the programs - cleaners. They can help you get rid of unnecessary cache, useless files and other system information, as a result of which the load on the computer will significantly decrease.

What is restart yet? It can pursue another goal: to reboot the computer in connection with recently installed updates, applications, drivers. The device always warns that it needs a reboot, and your task is only to give it the opportunity to do it now or wait for a more suitable time so that it reboots only the next time you start the PC.

Do not forget that if you do not give it the opportunity to reboot immediately in order to install new drivers, technical problems may arise. For example, you can hear system sounds (squeaks, background noise), your monitor will not display an image correctly, the load on the CPU and RAM will increase (since both system updates will be added to the memory). Therefore, it is recommended to reboot immediately after installing the drivers.

Restart requirement

Some ordinary users believe that the only way to restart the PC is to press a single button on the system unit. This method often disrupts the computer itself and, in the future, can cause frequent spontaneous shutdowns, since the device completes a lot of processes in the shortest possible time, preventing them from completing their work correctly. Therefore, this method of rebooting is not recommended to be used too often, unless, of course, your PC is completely frozen.

Spontaneous reboot

Restart execution

It appears when the PC starts the process of rebooting / restoring files without any warnings. In this case, the problem is most likely in the computer components. The most common causes of this behavior are interruptions in the temperature of your processor, high load on the video card, or lack of RAM memory.

In this case, restarting a computer should not be immediately considered as a “bell”, because such reboots are sometimes common and even preventative: your PC might need only temporary rest and after rebooting it will again be able to work in normal mode. Important: restart in translation from English means "update", "reboot", "restart". The word restart is synonymous with reboot, reset, reloading.

Restart can also be carried out by restarting the computer with the keys by pressing them successively - Ctrl + Alt + Del, so you only need to find the power icon and select the "Restart" option, the restart will be carried out instantly.

There is also a keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Esc, which only opens the "Task Manager". Using it, you can already reboot, but it will take more time than in the first case. We examined what restart is.
