Almost all of those people who work with electronic documentation, most often to perform everyday tasks from the entire office suite offered by Microsoft, use only two main programs - Word and Excel. However, not everyone is aware that when installing the package you can install not all, but only the most necessary applications. About how to install Excel on a computer, read this article.
The proposed solutions contain information about the most common and rather unusual methods of installing the required editor. And some of them, respectively, can be used not only in the case of Excel, but also when installing any other office components.
What it is?
What is Excel? The program is a universal spreadsheet editor, initially focused not so much on working with tables, but rather on performing all kinds of mathematical operations and automated calculations.
It is not surprising that it was he who was recognized as the most powerful tool of this type, and it was on this basis that similar developments were created at the time. However, you can describe the features of Excel for an infinitely long time, so let's start right away to consider issues related to how to install Excel on your computer using the simplest methods. And as the first solution, consider the most standard technique.
How to install Excel on a computer using a full office suite?
Since this spreadsheet editor is included in all well-known office suites from Microsoft, it is obvious that you can use any of the available distributions to install it. When the installer starts, all the main components that are part of the package will be installed, depending on the version and year of release.
But all the "Offices" are paid software, and by our standards they are very expensive. In this situation, you can offer the simplest (though somewhat illegal) solution, which consists in activating the package without the need for an official purchase through the use of half-legal utilities, like KMSpico or KMSAuto Net.
But let's see how to install Excel on the computer if you simply do not need other components of the entire package. In this case, during the operation of the installer at one of the stages, it will be offered to choose the preferred type of installation.
Here you need to specify not a complete, but a custom installation, and then select only the required editor. In addition, you can expand the installation distribution directory, find the folder with the Excel installer there and run the desired file, after which only Excel will be installed.
For enterprises, you can recommend using the latest Office 365 cloud package, when activated, you will need to indicate which programs need access. At the same time, you can first use the trial period, but then you will have to pay for using cloud services (subscribe). It looks quite uncomfortable.
Where to find free excel?
But the most interesting thing is that relatively recently, Microsoft gave up some of its ambitions and began to distribute Excel for free!
To download the installation distribution, you just need to go to the official office product support website, and then download the desired version of the editor. Installing Excel from the downloaded installer file when you run it as administrator from the actions performed during the installation of other programs will not differ completely.
Note: in the same way you can download all the other free distributed programs and assemble a full-fledged “Office” from them without the need for an official purchase.
Alternative solutions
If you look, today you can find many free Excel counterparts that are included in the free software packages OpenOffice.org or WPS Office.
They are not only fully compatible with all well-known versions of Excel, but they are also easier to use in some respects, not to mention the presence of some additional tools that are superior in their capabilities to the brainchild of Microsoft (and some of them are not in the original at all).
Non-standard technique
Finally, if you do not like any of the options presented above, you can offer one more interesting and rather non-standard solution that will allow not only installing the required editor on your own computer, but also combining the use of the stationary version of Windows with the Android mobile platform.
The point is that first you need to install either an Android emulator (for example, the BlueStacks application), or a full-fledged Android x86 OS, which, however, works only on some laptop models, and then install the original spreadsheet editor from the Play Market repository. However, you can do even simpler, since the operating system version 5 and higher initially has a full analogue of Excel in the form of the Tables application, which is no worse than the original Microsoft software product.
