The instructions for use for a veterinary preparation of the Mastiet Forte antibacterial group give a definition of a drug whose active ingredients effectively fight bacteria that cause mastitis in cattle during lactation, as well as otitis media, balanoposthitis and various skin diseases in domestic animals, in particular cats and dogs. In the treatment of these diseases, the veterinary drug "Mastiet Forte" has established itself as a tool that has virtually no contraindications and does not have side effects on the animal's body. The exception is only individuals sensitive to the components of the drug.
Dosage form and constituent substances
Mastiet Forte is available in the form of a yellow suspension and is packaged in disposable 8 gram syringes. The full packaging of the drug consists of 20 plastic syringe dispensers and instructions for use. The following active ingredients are available in a single dose:
- oxytetracycline - 200 mg;
- neomycin - 250 mg;
- bacitracin - 2000 IU;
- prednisone - 10 mg.
Suspension "Mastiet Forte" involves the intracisternal administration of the drug directly into the affected part of the udder of the animal.
Pharmacological properties
The combined preparation of the Mastiet Forte antibiotic group is determined by the instructions for use as an effective deep-acting drug in the treatment of mastitis in cows during lactation. The combination of antibiotics that make up the suspension provides enhanced antimicrobial activity to combat pathogens that cause mastitis.
Substances of the antibiotic group in the composition of the drug, namely oxytetracycline and neomycin, slow down the synthesis of proteins in the bacterial cell. Bacitracin enhances the action of these substances, penetrating into such a cell and disrupting the synthesis of components of the cell wall.
The anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic effect of Mastiet Forte contains prednisone. Thanks to this substance, a decrease in the inflammatory reaction and a decrease in swelling of the udder are provided.
Veterinary drug "Mastiet Forte". Instructions for use
Initially, the drug began to be produced for the treatment of mastitis in cattle. Mastiet forte is used for cows as follows: it is introduced directly into the part of the udder that is affected by mastitis, and only after milking. The daily dose for cattle is 8 grams, which corresponds to 1 syringe dispenser. If it is not possible to achieve a positive result with a single dose, repeated injection is allowed, but not earlier than after 24 hours.
The antibiotic "Mastiet forte" describes the instructions for use as a tool for the treatment of other diseases of domestic animals. For various skin infections, veterinarians prescribe the application of applications on the affected areas at least twice a day.
Mastiet forte is recommended for cats in the treatment of otitis media. For this, the surface of the animal’s auricle is wiped with a suspension once a day. An increase in the number of treatments is allowed if the disease has become chronic.
Mastiet forte is also used for dogs in the treatment of similar diseases.
The active ingredients of the drug are effective in the treatment of balanoposthitis. In this case, the drug is administered in a single dose into the prepuce bag. To quickly distribute the drug, it is recommended to massage the injection site slightly.
Storage conditions
To the place of storage of the drug "Mastiet Forte" should limit the access of children. The shelf life of the drug is 2 years at a temperature in the room of no higher than 25 degrees.
