Lithium mixture for children from temperature in critical cases

High body temperature (hyperthermia) in young children begins after 38.5 on a thermometer. Prior to this value, pediatricians highly persistently recommend not taking any medications. When the mercury column of the thermometer rises steadily and persistently above this mark, it is time to begin the fight against temperature. The main recommended drug for hyperthermia for children is considered "Paracetamol". But in extreme cases, when it is inexplicably inactive, a lytic mixture for children will be effective.

What is a lytic mixture?

The lytic mixture of temperature is a kind of cocktail, which includes analgesics, antispasmodic and antihistamines, in a ratio of 1: 1: 1.

The drug "Analgin" (in a lytic cocktail helps to lower the temperature) is the main drug in the group of non-narcotic analgesics. The main pharmacological effects are analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory.

"Papaverine" is an antispasmodic drug that has a hypotensive effect, helps to reduce tone and relax smooth muscles and blood vessels.

"Diphenhydramine" is a "classic" antihistamine with a pronounced sedative (hypnotic, inhibitory, calming) effect.

The lithium mixture for children works flawlessly and instantly, after 10-15 minutes. after intramuscular injection, the temperature begins to drop. Since the drug "Analgin" with intramuscular injection is painful, along with the generally accepted rules for injecting, there are several special features for the lytic mixture:

  • all ampoules warm up to body temperature;
  • before opening, each ampoule is wiped with a 70% alcohol solution;
  • all drugs are collected in one disposable syringe;
  • before and after the injection, the injection site is thoroughly wiped with an alcohol solution;
  • the injection is done deeply intramuscularly, the drug is administered slowly.

A lytic mixture is used for children only in case of a negative allergic reaction to each drug included in its composition. You can check the reaction by dripping a few drops of the finished solution into the childโ€™s eye (slightly protrude the lower eyelid of the eye). The absence of redness of the conjunctival sac, acute itching and pain for 10-15 minutes suggests the possibility of using the drug.

A lytic mixture for children is prepared in a proportion of 0.1 ml of each of the following drugs for a full year of life. For children under one year of age, it is prepared according to a different scenario:

  • โ€œAnalginโ€ solution (50%) - 0.1 ml per 10 kg of weight;
  • Papaverine solution (2%) - 0.1 ml;
  • Diphenhydramine (2%) - 0.4 ml.

Lytic mixture dosage: 1 time for 6 hours

It is very important for parents to understand that elevated body temperature is not a disease, but only a syndrome of a disease (most often inflammatory or infectious). And to extinguish a fire outside, when the hearth inside is not only a completely useless activity, but also extremely dangerous. At the earliest opportunity, the child must be shown to the doctor, not forgetting to talk about the measures taken with a hyperthermic condition.
