1C configuration update: step-by-step instruction

For 1C software products, configuration updates come out with enviable consistency. They not only correct errors, but also make changes in accordance with legislative amendments. On average, 3-5 updates for 1C: Accounting and other products are released per month.

It is especially important to monitor the relevance of the configuration in reporting periods. Improper tax returns can result in heavy fines.

Platform update

For the database to work correctly, it is necessary to keep the software up to date. Before updating, you need to install the latest version of the technology platform 1C. Its presence is checked by default when starting the infobase. In this case, the user only needs to confirm the operation.

You can install the platform manually. To do this, you need to download the latest distribution from the user support site, unzip the archive and run the setup.exe file. During installation, it is recommended not to change anything, all values are set to default. After the upgrade, you can check the platform version. To do this, you need to start the database and see information about the program by clicking the orange button in the upper right corner of the window. The first line will indicate the version of the platform.

Program Information

Auto mode

To update the configuration of 1C 8.3 in the "Administration" section, select the "Maintenance / Install updates and patches (patches)" item, click the active link to search. A window opens in which you can select components.

Program update window

The update takes place automatically. You only need to follow the instructions on the screen. After installation, the application will restart. It remains only to confirm the legality of use.

Update through the configurator from 1C server

Sometimes the automatic installation process takes a lot of time. This happens if the configuration has not been updated for a long time. In this case, it makes sense to perform operations manually. Let's consider how to update 1C using the configurator.

Configurator Update

To do this, open the database and go to the corresponding menu item. Search for available updates. We will be required to enter a username and password to access the ITS service (information technology support). A list of updates will appear in the window that opens. The freshest of them is the first in the list and in bold. Install the update and accept the changes.

Update Selection Window

All the described actions need to be repeated several times until the program tells us that the latest version of the configuration is installed. The fact is that updates are installed sequentially. If the current version is very outdated, then immediately switch to the latest will not work.

Local installation

In a similar way, the 1C configuration is updated using a file. You must download the distribution from the user support site. Select the desired product from the list. A window opens with an update table. The right column lists the versions for which they are suitable. Let's say you have release 3.0.64.29. This means that you first need to upgrade to 3.0.65.80 and only then to the last.

Support site update list

Download the necessary distributions and unpack. Further steps are similar to the previous example, only instead of searching for available updates you need to specify the path to the downloaded file. After installing and accepting changes, run the database in the "1C: Enterprise" mode and confirm the legality of using the program.

How to update 1C using the ITS disk

Subscribing to information and technology support includes not only online support, but also monthly receipt of a CD with distributions, methodological recommendations and relevant articles. To install the update, you need to wait for autorun and select the "View" button. A window will open in which we click on the item "Technology Support". Next, select the product we are interested in, for example, the update "1C: Accounting".

After confirmation, a description of the changes in the new version will appear. And also here you can check compatibility with previous releases similarly to the table from the support site. We start the installation. The program will prompt you to specify the path to save the update files. You can leave it by default or specify your own.

After the installation is complete, run the configurator and go to the update menu similarly to the previous examples. As the source, you must specify the path selected during installation. If it did not change manually, then during the search the files will be found automatically.

Combining configurations

Another way to update "1C: Enterprise" allows you to skip the steps for installing intermediate releases. It can also be useful when serving a large number of jobs or databases.

Suppose an accountant keeps records at once in several organizations that are not related to each other. When the next version of the configuration is released, each database needs to be updated. If several releases have been skipped, the process can take a long time and paralyze the work.

To apply the merge method, you must first update one of the databases, and then upload the configuration to a file. To do this, perform the following steps.

Saving the configuration to a file

Open the updated database in the configurator and select the appropriate menu item. Specify the save path. The default configuration file name is 1Cv8.cf. You can specify any other without changing the extension.

Next, we will alternately open the remaining bases in the configurator mode. No matter how many releases were skipped, in each case the same file will be indicated as the update source. This method is also very convenient if you want to make the same manual changes to each database.

Features of updating non-standard configurations

All of the above methods are suitable for standard releases. What to do if the configuration has been modified by the user? On the one hand, you need to install the latest changes from the software provider, and on the other hand, save your edits. Automatic updating is not applicable in such cases. All manual changes will be overwritten with preset values, and created objects will be deleted, since they are not included in the standard delivery. In such cases, the configuration comparison method is used.

The first stages do not differ from the above methods of operation in the mode of the configurator. Search for updates and select the necessary release. But during the installation process, a window will appear comparing the current and loaded configuration. For each object, you can choose which version should be left.

Updating atypical configurations requires certain qualifications. If there is not enough confidence and knowledge, it is better to contact a specialist.

Possible problems

In automatic mode, errors often occur updating configurations 1C. They can lead to unpleasant consequences. In the worst case, the base will become inoperative. Before any update, you must back up.

The most common cause of errors is an outdated platform. In this case, the program itself reports on the need to update it. But there are also reverse situations when you need to roll back to the platform of previous versions. Similar problems arise when updates are rarely installed and the user, in order to save time, tries to jump over several releases at once. As a result, the work is paralyzed, and restoring the database takes much longer than a sequential update.

The update may fail due to lack of RAM. Unfortunately, this is an extremely resource intensive process. A step-by-step update in the configurator requires less resources. You can also transfer the database to a more powerful computer and update, and then return it to its place.

If the errors cannot be resolved, it is better to contact technical support. An infobase is too valuable for a business to experiment with.
