Its production in the United States of America was put on a commercial basis. Polyester is a complex chemical process that is produced primarily from petroleum. From polyester fibers obtained from melts of polyethylene terephthalate, a fabric is produced as a result of a chemical reaction. In appearance, it is very similar to wool or cotton.

Underwear made of this fabric is not recommended, it reacts poorly to sweat and has to be washed immediately after the first wear. In addition, in summer it is hot in this underwear, and in winter it does not warm at all. But cotton with the addition of 10-20% polyester is a completely different matter, the linen does not crease, it becomes comfortable, pleasant.
