Some projects about World War II are deeply patriotic in nature. Others describe significant historical events of those times. Still others include both. This article will discuss games of the RTS strategy genre (about the Second World War in this case) in real time. On the example of 1-2 projects, we highlight the main qualities and features.

It is worth noting that in this game the first part and its sequel are significantly different. If the first was a clearly composed and reliable historical narrative, then in the sequel everything happens exactly the opposite. Generally speaking, the Canadian developers greatly exaggerated the ideas of the Soviet commanders about the betrayals, the military tribunaland other expressions in the style of "Not one step back!". We all know, honor and remember how our compatriots defended their homeland to the last drop of blood, not allowing the fascist forces to advance a meter. In the game, everything is radically upside down in such a way that the Soviet Armyshe herself shot her soldiers literally at the end of each mission !!! To date, the sale and distribution of Company Of Heroes 2 (strategies about the Second World War) in Russia has been suspended due to a large number of people writing requests to remove these products from the market so that children do not get acquainted with a distorted story. From a historical and moral point of view, it’s a pity that the developers chose this way of building a single player campaign, because the game as a whole turned out to be quite interesting and attractive. So, playing in the second part, be prepared for, to put it mildly, unpleasant pictures. Despite this, the Company Of Heroes series is rightfully included in the list of "Best Strategies about the Second World War", at least its first part."Behind Enemy Lines"
