How and why are children's contests organized

The ability to compete with other people appears in children at the senior preschool age, when the child is five or six years old. It was in this period that the boys began to strive to measure strength, to overtake their peers during the Olympics, and for girls to demonstrate their knowledge in the classroom, receive praise from the teacher in the presence of other children, or win the drawing competition.

Use of competitions in the process of education

The formation of the competitiveness of a graduate of a school and university is one of the important tasks in the process of obtaining education. A school graduate must withstand competition on admission, and a graduate of a higher educational institution - when hiring for a profession. Therefore, throughout the entire period of training, children's contests are an integral form of the educational process.

1) In senior groups of kindergarten at least four times a year, sporting events and competitions are held. Group competitions are organized, as children are still painfully experiencing personal setbacks.

2) Educators and teachers widely use children's contests and games to consolidate children's knowledge based on the results of the material. Therefore, final lessons of knowledge consolidation or extracurricular activities, entertainment, where children have the opportunity to demonstrate their success, can be organized.

3) Competitions of educational projects, olympiads in individual disciplines are held with high school students, when their preferences for studying have already come to light, when children's competitions become for them a means of self-affirmation in the school team.

4) For senior students, business games can be organized with competitions for the best report on the topic of the essay in the framework of a scientific conference or a competition "for the position of director of the school" as a result of drawing up their election program. Thus, children can participate in the management of the school, in the organization of the learning process.

Children's contests during the organization and holding of holidays

On the basis of national and national holidays, an educational program of educational institutions is being built. The celebrations are evenly distributed throughout the school year. Many school materials (poems, songs, folklore, the study of the traditions and customs of the peoples of the country) reflect the essence of the holiday, its significance for the people. The holiday becomes a means of summing up a large section of educational material. Additionally, with the help of the holiday, children relieve tension that has accumulated over a quarter, trimester or six months.

During the holidays, children's contests are entertaining in nature, relieve tension. It is recommended that the same competition be held several times so that as many children as possible take part in it. As a result of victory in such competitions, the child receives a small gift. The more participants can receive a prize, the more joy they will experience from the event.

New Year’s children’s contests are held not by a teacher, but by a cheerful fairy-tale character who allows children to be in a fairy tale and receive gifts. The most magical moment of such competitive competitions is when a child receives just such a gift or prize that he has been dreaming of for a long time.

Participation in competitions trains children's will, fosters self-confidence. The child learns to set a goal and find means to achieve it. When organizing competitions, an adult should take into account the most developed abilities of the child, which he can successfully demonstrate. If such situations of success are repeated repeatedly, then the child grows up as an active and competitive person.
