Such a structure of internal organs is peculiar only to fish of this type, because thanks to it they have special qualities that are manifested in behavior and life.
Keeping them at home is very simple and affordable. Labyrinth aquarium fish are unpretentious, take root in any conditions and get used to any food. Thanks to the famous organ, which is located above the gills, they seem to swallow the air that is above the surface of the water, and then distribute it through the vessels throughout the body. Therefore, the labyrinth family is absolutely indifferent, there is a lot of oxygen in the water or little, the main thing is that the aquarium is not too deep and tightly closed, and each fish always has access to the surface.
It is also worth noting that labyrinth fish can get used to water of various hardness. The main thing is not to change the usual conditions during their life, since, depending on the type of water, from childhood they will begin to develop certain physiological characteristics.

hard water, then correcting this nuance by
