It all started back in 1941. A war that claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. It lasted exactly 1418 days and nights. Young children, who had gone to the front so early but returned from the war, recall these days with tears in their eyes and trembling voices. Now they are old people, and every year on the day of the Great Victory all the inhabitants of the country express their gratitude to the veterans. But is only one day a year worth remembering about them? Don't they deserve the daily help and care? What our winners survived, what losses the army suffered - tell your children about victories and defeats or let them read this article.
The beginning of the terrible war
Summer is 41 years old. On June 22, graduation parties took place in almost every city. Thousands of graduates gathered to meet the dawn with school friends, many saw him for the last time. It is worth saying words of gratitude to veterans for their victory and for the preserved stories about this difficult period in people's lives.
Many cities and villages from the Baltic Sea to the Carpathian Mountains woke up from volleys of guns and explosions of bombs that flew from the air. Someone was lucky a little more, they learned about the war from a radio message. In the morning, the whole world shuddered in horror: no one understood what was happening, and did not believe that this was for a long time.
Losses
The figures of the loss of human life on both sides make us horrified - about five million people, not only Russians and Germans, but also Belarusians, Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Buryats and other peoples. About a million more people were missing. We will not give official figures about the loss of equipment, but we note that only in the first hour of the war, the losses of the USSR amounted to about two and a half thousand military equipment - this is an hour! And the war lasted four long years.
We express our gratitude to the veterans, if it weren’t for their fighting spirit, their dedication and love for their homeland, the numbers would have been ten times more!
Hitler - Failed hopes
He hoped for a quick war and did not expect such an answer. Poland and Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Romania surrendered to Germany almost without a fight, but the Soviet people did not want to give their homeland to strangers - fascists. Our army fought for everything that belonged to the Soviet Union - territory, people, their mothers, wives and children. Eighteen-year-old youths enrolled en masse to the front. In the early days of the war, the number of volunteers already exceeded one million people. Units returned who currently need more than just gratitude. War veterans need attention and maybe a little care, it is important for them to know that the victory was not in vain, that they fought not in vain.
How long did the Great Patriotic War last?
From June 22, 1941 to May 9, 1945: 4 terrible years, 1418 days. There was everything here: fear and hunger, little joys and great victories, tears of happiness and tears of grief, and a long painful expectation of news from the battlefield. Those who have gone through all this are now ninety years old, some more, some less. But even after seven decades since the end of the war, the memories in their memory are fresh. Everything seemed to be yesterday, and today there are words of gratitude to the veterans, in their eyes - tears, and in their memory - the faces of people who did not return from the war.
What to tell children about the Victory?
The younger generation should know at what price this victory was given. They must understand what fascism is. Why victory is called Great.
The war swept many states, 80 percent of the population living on the planet, fought for their homeland, defended their homeland. The battles were fought on the ground and in the air, the Nazis set fire to villages and villages that are now alive only in the memory of the elderly. They fought to their last breath - for which they are especially grateful. It is hard for veterans of the Great Patriotic War to remember how it was, their life is divided into before and after. But every year they again and again recall the terrible days of the war. Share the experiences and thoughts that visited them at that time. There are few veterans left, so it is so important to have time to hear and understand them. The task of modern youth is to prevent all people on Earth from forgetting about this terrible war.
Victory Day - how and when is it celebrated?
After the Great Victory, the Soviet Union celebrated this holiday on May 9 for three years. It was officially recognized as a weekend. The first of May 9 brought all people together: flowers to fighters who returned from the front, tears of mothers, who were finally able to hug their sons. Even those who did not wait for their loved ones from the front succumbed to general joy. But three years later, the holiday was ordered to be forgotten: the huge destruction required a full outlay of strength, and time was not expected for the celebration. Only seventeen years later, in 1965, May 9 was again recognized as a holiday. This has been going on for half a century - fifty years. And every year we personally confess our love to our winners or write a letter of thanks to a veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
Of course, I would like to ask all the inhabitants of the Earth to remember about the people who went through the war, not only on this great day - Victory Day. And to express gratitude to veterans every day and hour for a peaceful sky, for the opportunity to live freely and calmly, raise their children and see happy smiles on their faces.
Write a letter of thanks to the veteran and give it to an unfamiliar grandfather who wipes tears from his eyes, who carries flowers to the grave of an unknown soldier. The moment his eyes touch the lines, he will know that he did not just fight so that his victory is really important for all people.
Take care of our veterans - there are very few of them left!
