Budgies talk: talkers talkers and how to understand them

Parrots are one of the most popular species of birds kept at home. They are kind, unpretentious, bright, energetic, easily adaptable. But they cause a particularly lively interest in that they imitate human speech well.

Cockatoo, Amazons, Jaco, no doubt, are great mockingbirds. However, most often from houses and apartments chirps of budgies are distributed.

The prevalence of this species of parrots is caused by their rather small size and "fun" color: green, yellow, blue, white and just mottled, they are pleasing to the eye. Interesting stripes on the back and head of these parrots are intertwined in a pattern resembling waves, for which they were called wavy.

And also communicative in nature, budgies talk with each other and with the owners with great pleasure.

Between themselves parrots talk with the help of various sounds: tweet, meow, quack, squeak, shout sharply. Sometimes they sing, and sometimes they are silent. It happens that a parrot vigorously, but silently, flaps its bright wings on its sides.

To understand what budgies are talking about, or what they are trying to convey to the owners, you just need to look at their behavior and listen to the intonations.

Gentle tweets and quacking are expressions of contentment with oneself and the surrounding world. With the help of a sharp and jerky quacking, the parrots grumble at an object they did not like or a situation that arose.

An affectionate, but anxious quacking pet warns that he does not want to harm the owner, but he is very dissatisfied with his actions.

If from the cage the voices of budgies are full of anxiety, and their screams resemble terrible cries, they are terribly frightened by something.

When a sitting parrot sharply beats its wings - you do not need to approach it. So he makes it clear that he is very annoyed, and does not want to talk.

By meowing, the parrots express their approval of the piece they like and hint that it would be nice for the owner to remember the treat he liked.

In some cases, budgies talk "gestures."

By tapping its beak on a cage or on nearby objects, the parrot demonstrates a playful mood. And tapping her beak on the female’s beak, the parrot seduces her. In response, the female can gently squeak, twitter, whistle while expressing the pleasure of courtship.

However, if the parrots peep plaintively, it means that they experience great discomfort. Perhaps they are frightened by a rearrangement in the room, the presence of an outsider, or a sudden turn off of the light.

The silence in the room where budgerigars live should alert the owner. In the daytime, these parrots sleep extremely rarely, so you should check the condition of the pets.

After all, budgies are too talkative, and silence is atypical for their behavior. Usually it means the same as the silence of a small child with a stranger or in an extreme situation - a strong fear.

The wavy parrot begins to imitate human speech from boredom when it does not have a pair, and the owner is the only “interlocutor”.

Then the budgies talk using the memorable words and phrases.

In this case, the owners need to be very careful in using foul language: a parrot, without realizing the meaning, easily remembers and quotes your favorite profanity. And to wean him from uttering ugly words is impossible. The budgerigar will perceive this as a continuation of the game, and will continue to expand its vocabulary.

But the constant exercises in memorizing and repeating certain phrases and sentences will bring undoubted joy to the owner and his beloved parrot.
