The beauty of the local area gives an abundance of flowers and greenery. Often in the courtyard there is no room for additional flower beds and high-quality landscaping. Pottery flowers can come to the rescue here . More interesting are plants planted in a flower pot outdoor.
This is a container in which pot flowers or other containers with plants are placed. Differing from pots, planters do not have holes for draining excess fluid. Products manufactured for the streets (most often) are made from more durable materials than those used inside the housing.
Purpose of street flowerpots
Outdoor flower pot (including high) is used in several situations:
- in order to hide the jammed, old flower pot;
- so that the pots of different styles fit into the design style.
Hanging containers are used to decorate empty spaces.
Outdoor flower pots are usually installed on the threshold of the veranda, in the courtyard or on the balconies. You can use a long container, which includes several pots, but you can use a single design. No less common racks with vases. Flowers hanging from pots will hide the stand. As a result, the view will be as if there is a bush or a tree in the yard.
Materials for manufacturing street vases
Products are divided by type depending on the materials:
- Plastic. A variety of colors, sizes, shapes of these containers are available. The flowerpot made of plastic is easy to clean, it is not subject to the influence of the sun, wind or cold. This material is sufficiently resistant to shock: if a flower falls or a child accidentally hits it, it is likely that the flowerpot will remain intact. This is the most inexpensive, and therefore - the most popular option.
- Wood. Such products can be purchased, or can be made independently. In order for rains and other rainfall not to spoil it, the outdoor cache-pot is treated with special means.
- Pottery. Products from it are in steady demand because they have a very attractive appearance. Floor flower pots made of this material have an attractive color, are decorated with cute patterns, and frosting is applied on top. Such a look makes a ceramic planter a desirable object for any interior.
- Metal. Most often, such flower pots are the result of forging.
- Fake diamond. This is a very durable material that can serve for many years, resistant to wear and environmental influences. There is a wide selection on sale. Such products can be incredibly beautiful, but their price is quite high.
Sometimes the flower pots are made of concrete, rattan, glass. You can independently weave a pot using the macrame technique.
Where better to install
There are several places where large flowerpots will look most spectacular:
- At the entrance. You can put only one container, but a pair of symmetrically installed containers on both sides of the door looks better.
- They look great at the end of the track, on its bends, forks, and benches.
- A cache-pot floor high can become the center of the courtyard, especially if the original flower grows in it. In the central part of the courtyard a concrete tall flowerpot looks very impressive.
- If there is a small garden, large flowerpots will look great in the back of it. Bright flowers will decorate it; they will look great among dense greenery.
- Need to go up the stairs to the house? At its foot and at each step (on both sides), identical pots with identical plants should be placed.

DIY pots
This flowerpot can be made from improvised materials: use kitchen utensils, toys, unnecessary shoes for this. Apply barrels, watering cans, buckets, wicker baskets.
It’s easy to make gypsum planters yourself. This requires:
- the foundation;
- wire for the frame;
- gypsum;
- strips of fabric;
- moisture resistant paints;
- decor.
As a basis, you can use buckets or plastic pots. They are installed on a flat surface upside down. Procedure:
- Braid the container with wire, hiding the edges.
- Remove the frame.
- Dilute the gypsum to a comfortable density. Dip strips of fabric and cover the frame on both sides. The walls should be no thinner than 2 cm. The remaining solution is spread on the surface. Leave to dry for a day.
- Strip the cache-pot with sandpaper.
- Paint it.
This planter is decorated with various decor options. You can make it plain, multi-colored, create a mosaic of glass, beads, small stones. If style requires, you can apply acrylic varnish to the surface.
