New Year, like any big holiday, many can not imagine without fireworks. But you need to know that loud pyrotechnics can add not only positive emotions, but also cause harm, therefore, safety precautions are required.
Definition
Fireworks are fiery charges that follow into the sky at regular intervals, while drawing all kinds of shapes. Elements can be of various colors and shapes. Often the game of lights is held at large celebrations and at the launch sites of the city. The cost of this pleasure is rather big, so an ordinary person will not always be able to get such pleasure just like that.
How dangerous is it
Starting fireworks is considered completely safe if you follow the instructions. They are not explosive, since the gunpowder used for manufacturing does not burn fast enough, so this is not enough for an explosion. Based on these factors, we can conclude that such pleasure is no more dangerous than matches.
Cases when people are simply injured, often occur due to irresponsibility and negligence. They very often do not read the instructions and do not comply with safety rules, and also launch devices made on their own. This is strictly prohibited.
How to choose
Fireworks - a show in which you want to decide what effect you want to get. For noise, it is recommended to use firecrackers, for those who want to have fun, it is better to purchase flying fireworks. Fountains (a huge number of sparks coming out of the earth) look very impressive and beautiful. "Salutes", "rockets" and "Roman candles" are perfect for a full-fledged firework.
Views
- The coolest and brightest are “super-salutes”. A large number of volleys from 28–418 and various effects are concentrated in one box. This variety is distinguished by its power and huge entertainment, their beauty will bewitch anyone, and also causes incredible delight in the public. Depending on the chosen model, salvos of fireworks last from 37-440 seconds. To start, just install and fix the box, and then set fire to the wick.
- Salute batteries are also a great option for a great celebration. They are not as spectacular as the previous ones, but still beautiful enough. The number of volleys collected in them varies from 7–150, and the duration takes from 15–120 seconds. There are also a variety of effects.
- "Roman candles" are a budget option, which collected from 3-10 volleys and from 2 to 5 effects. They look like elongated tubes, and it is not difficult to launch them, the flight altitude is from 2 to 40 meters.
- "Rockets" are fireworks from which you can get a lot of sight and smoke. They quickly make several or one volley at a rather high altitude (70-100 meters), after which they completely die out. It is an excellent and inexpensive option for any event.
Where is launch allowed
In each of the cities there are special sites where fireworks are allowed to be launched. Their location is often determined by the municipal government, and their list is published on the official websites of the city. Such places are located far from residential premises, and on holidays there are employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on duty.
Running a salute in the yard is not a good idea, since pyrotechnics have a danger zone radius. There should not be parks, houses, power lines, or trees in this area. For “batteries of salutes”, “super-salutes” and “missiles”, this radius is 30 meters, and for “fountains” - 5. When there is windy weather outside, the distance increases 3-4 times. It is preliminary recommended to find a site that can comply with the declared rules, so that then you do not select the necessary zone at night. And also it is required to think over the location of the audience. It is recommended to watch the fireworks at a distance of 30-50 meters from the coverage area.
Preparation for launch
- Before you start launching new fireworks, you need to properly prepare. The instruction is carefully read. On each of the boxes there is a description, and it is also worthwhile to think over where the launch will be made.
- Be sure to unpack the installation, it is important that the foil and cellophane do not need to be removed. Then you need to find the wick, which is often located under the foil. If there are several, then the instructions will indicate which of them is the main one.
Process start
- It is necessary to carefully fix the box with pyrotechnics so that it does not tip over at the time of launch. The surface on which the fireworks will be installed must be solid and even.
- “Rockets” must be placed exclusively vertically (it is recommended that the launch tube be strengthened, and the rocket itself should not be deepened much so that it can easily get out after ignition of the wick). The "Roman candle" is placed at a slight angle relative to the audience. “Flying fireworks” is recommended to be launched on a previously prepared piece of cardboard, the size of which is 50 * 50 cm.
- At the time of starting, it is better not to use a lighter, as you can get a burn. It is recommended to use matches, best of all hunting. No need to bend over the box, and the wick needs to be set on fire at arm's length.
- Before you begin the process, you need to make sure that no one is nearby.
Safety regulations
- Fireworks are pyrotechnics, therefore it is by no means permitted to launch it from hand. The exceptions are sparklers and crackers.
- Children must perform this procedure only with their parents. It’s better to watch the show without dogs, as they can simply get scared and turn the installation over during a run.
- After completion, you must necessarily move to a safe distance of 30-50 meters, and then enjoy the resulting performance.
General recommendations
- It is forbidden to start a firework while intoxicated, as this is fraught with burns.
- Before starting an arson, you need to make sure that the box is not damaged in the pyrotechnic product (there are no cracks, creases, bends, visible wetting). When there are problems, it is better not to use this device.
- If at the time of launch the wick completely burned out, and the show never started, then you should not try to light it again. This can trigger an immediate launch and injure the person who installs it. Non-working goods with a completely burned wick can be returned back as defective and get your money spent for them or replace them with others.
- You never need to disassemble the pyrotechnic devices - neither before nor after. Since the mechanism may not fully open, and this may be traumatic.
- If the wind is more than 10 m / s, then starting is not recommended. It is quite dangerous, and also not always beautiful. Sparks from ground devices will be blown away and expectations will not be met.
- After the show ends, it is not allowed to approach the installations for 10–20 minutes, since the process inside is not understood from the side.
International festival
The fireworks festival in 2017 was held in Moscow. This event took place on August 19 and 20 in Brateevsky Cascade Park. The theme of the festival was very significant and sounded like "Moscow on 7 hills."
The main participants were teams from Russia, Armenia, China, Croatia, Japan, Brazil, Austria and Romania. As part of this event, seven historic hills appeared. The festival guests were expected to have thematic entertainments, as well as various master classes, meetings with poets, sports, performances by pop stars, quests, street performances and other entertainments.
This event can be called a night of fireworks, since the start of the competition program began at 21–00. The team performed for 10 minutes. On each day of the competition program, performances of 4 opponents were demonstrated. The guests of this holiday were expected by 60 thousand volleys, for which 27 tons of pyrotechnics were involved. The height of the fire reached 200 meters.
New Year's fireworks
The ancestors of modern representations using pyrotechnics were ancient rites, for the implementation of which it is necessary to use fire. With the help of massive torches and bonfires, the monks and priests created fiery lighting effects in order to honor the gods.
The tradition of celebrating the coming of the New Year came to our country from Asia, and to be absolutely exact, from ancient China, in which there was a superstition about the spirits that wander. On the eve of the New Year, these incorporeal entities begin to seek new refuge for themselves, and in order to prevent them from settling in the owners' house and throughout the year they did not bring misfortune, it was necessary to scare them properly. And this can be done only with the help of sparklers, firecrackers, fireworks and crackers. After the invention of gunpowder, the development of pyrotechnics received a new impetus.
Since then, the use of fireworks for the New Year has become a tradition throughout the world. At the moment, it is impossible to imagine this holiday without the use of such bright fiery decorations.
