Many often have to work with a graphical editor. One needs this in the learning process, the other for work, and some begin to work in them on their own initiative. One thing is clear - everyone goes through the initial stage, when the interface presses with its volume and you have to figure it out yourself. Everyone begins to master the program in their own way: someone by trial and error, someone learns by watching tutorials on a graphic program. Users go through learning tools and building shapes. One of the insidious issues a beginner faces is the construction of wavy lines in Photoshop. This environment does not have the Curve tool directly, so you have to do it yourself.
How to draw wavy lines in Photoshop?
It’s quite difficult to contrive and draw the line necessary for the user, this is done using the Brush tool. But it is worthwhile to understand that the wavy line will turn out uneven and asymmetrical. Another way out of this situation are auxiliary figures, which can be done using the Ellipse tool. With proper dexterity, circles of the same size can be made at equal distances from each other.
Yet the most common solutions are simpler methods. You can list them:
- Wave. Allows you to separate the area in the form of a wave (identical to a wavy line)
- Pen. Allows you to create your own contour by controlling the points of extension.
Using the Wave function
Quite an effective method, if the user has the priority to create a symmetrical wavy line. A small difficulty that the user will encounter is fitting the necessary parameters.
To use the Wave function, you must do the following steps:
- Define and create an area that will be cut off by the "wave".
- Using the Rectangular Area tool, select the area that will have a wavy border.
- Then in the header of the program we find the section "Filter", then the category "Distortion" and the item "Wave".
- A settings window will pop up , in which you can select the type of wave (sine wave, triangles and squares), determine the wavelength and amplitude, select a scale.
- By trial and error, you can adjust the necessary parameter values to achieve the desired results.
- We observe that the region has wavy sides. You need to crop the area by calling the dialog box by right-clicking.
Pen tool
It is harder to work with this tool, but with it you can make an asymmetrical wavy line.
Usually it is used by professionals who are fluent in this tool.
- First you need to select this tool on the main working panel.
- We put the first reference point.
- Next, hold down the left mouse button and stretch the resulting arc to the desired distance, adjusting the process with the mouse. We release - the arch turned out.
- The next step is to do the same as in paragraph 3, only by inverting the arc in the opposite direction.
- Continue to repeat paragraphs 3 and 4 to the desired length of the wavy line.
- Then we close the line through the very first reference point.
- Select the area using RMB and crop it.
This is how you can create wavy lines in Photoshop.
