Oblivion is truly a legendary game, but by no means perfect. In the process of passing it every now and then annoying bugs are encountered, and the graphics, which at one time looked simply magnificent, now no longer falls to modern standards.
Fortunately, there are mods for TES 4: Oblivion, allowing you to transform the game for the better. And the most useful of these modifications will be considered in this article.
Patches
As mentioned earlier, Oblivion has quite a few bugs and errors. Fortunately, there are all kinds of patches to minimize their appearance. Here are those that are recommended to be installed without fail:
- Oblivion_patch 1_0 and 1_1. These are official patches released by the developers themselves. Corrects the most common errors, as well as bugs that make passing the game impossible.
- Oblivion_Knight_Patch. This is a hotfix for the Russian version of the game. Adds mini DLCs, which for unknown reasons were not included in the base edition.
- Unofficial Oblivion Patch. Fans of Oblivion also did not sit idle and created their patch with corrections. As a result, enthusiasts managed to get rid of more than two thousand bugs, so the work done really deserves respect.

Now it’s the turn of mods that somehow improve the picture in the game. I must say that enthusiasts managed to create a lot of such modifications, but among them there are those that stand out from the rest.
- Robert`s Male Bodies and HG EyeCandy Body. Perhaps the best mods for TES 4: Oblivion, replacing the bodies, respectively, of male and female characters with higher-quality models. It can be used both together and separately.
- Oblivion Character Overhaul. Face replayer for characters of all races. The difference with the original is noticeable to the naked eye.
- Quarl`s Texture Pack. Large collection of high resolution textures. For the most part, improvements relate to walls, masonry, stones, blood and interior items.
- Improved Trees and Flora, Enhanced Water and Oblivion Landscape. Three modifications that change vegetation, water and landscape.
In addition, you can install the Weather - All Natural pack, which adds all kinds of weather effects to the game.
Combat system
These mods for TES 4: Oblivion will suit those gamers who are not satisfied with the action from the original.
- Deadly Reflexes. It adds a lot of tricks, including stunning, dodging and all kinds of acrobatic freaks. The latter, by the way, work only with a high level of "Acrobatics". Also, the modification improves standard attack animations and allows the use of so-called finishing moves.
- Unnecessary Violence. In fact, a more extended version of the previous mod. Even more tricks, tricks and tricks, but at the same time more bugs associated with all this.
It is recommended that you use only one of these modifications, otherwise they may conflict with each other.
Magic
There is nowhere without magic in Tamriel, so the appearance of mods for TES 4: Oblivion, diversifying the life of sorcerers, is not surprising. Here are those that are today considered the best.

And finally, modifications for those who do not want to bother. These are builds of mods for TES 4: Oblivion, the installation of which immediately makes major changes to various aspects of the game.
- Oblivion Reloaded. Global graphic modification. Not only improves standard textures, but also adds effects that were not previously available.
- FCOM. Content mod that adds more than 1000 weapons, new quests, interesting mechanics and much more. In addition, FCOM allows you to install on top of other modifications that further expand the gameplay.
- The Lost Spires. By installing this mod, you can join the guild of archaeologists and take part in new adventures. The story fits perfectly into the plot of the game.
Also, if you wish, you can install a modification of Oblivion XP, which changes the pumping and makes it look like similar systems from classic RPGs.
