What is tweed?

The second version is related to the confusion caused by the yarn supplier. Due to slurred handwriting, the word tweel (twill weaving), written on the packaging, the recipient read as tweed. Since then, the name has been firmly entrenched in this yarn.
Modern tweed yarn
Since the creation of tweed, the production of knitting threads has become more advanced. Manufacturers have learned how to make perfectly even threads, use natural and artificial fibers in the process, and dye yarn in absolutely any color (even the brightest). Therefore, knitters can choose the material for knitting, based on their own preferences.
Usually, tweed yarn for knitting, made mainly from natural wool, has muted shades, and threads with a high content of artificial fibers are brighter.
Blotches usually have a contrasting color. If the thread itself is made in gray, beige or any other light color, then the inclusions can be black, dark blue. In a dark thread, the opposite is true.
What to knit from tweed?
It is difficult to make a mistake when choosing a tweed, because this type of yarn is suitable for creating any thing that will be worn in the off-season and winter cold. The list will include:

From thick threads original things are obtained in a slightly brutal, “rustic” style. To create delicate and sophisticated garments, it is worth giving preference to thin yarn.
