"Nifulin-forte" is a complex modern medicine, which has a fairly wide scope in veterinary medicine as an antiparasitic and antibacterial agent. This drug destroys microorganisms and viruses, including Trichomonas, Amoeba, Giardia and others. A medicine is used to treat various animals; Nifulin-forte is also used for birds.
Description and composition of the drug
The medicine is available in the form of a uniform dry powder of yellow, tan or light sand color. It has a specific smell. It is packaged in plastic containers or laminated bags weighing five kilograms.
Nifulin-forte is used for birds as a medicine in the treatment and prevention of salmonellosis and colibacteriosis.
In its composition, as active ingredients, Nifulin-Forte contains in 100 grams:
- 11 g of metronidazole;
- 1 g of furazolidone;
- 2.5 g of oxytetracycline hydrochloride.
All the ingredients of the drug have the ability to freely penetrate into the mucous membranes, tissues and organs of the patient by rapid absorption through the walls of the stomach and intestines. They act most actively within twelve hours after a single dose, and then are excreted from the body.
Drug action
The substances that Nifulin-Fort contains in its composition for birds are active in many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. These include salmonella, staphylococcus, streptococcus and others.
Oxytetracycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic whose action is that it disrupts the synthesis of microbial protein when it interacts with ribosomes. The second aspect of the action is to lower the permeability of the membranes of the cytoplasm in microorganisms.
Furazolidone is an antimicrobial and antiprotozoal substance. It exhibits bacteriostatic effect on microbes by disrupting the activity of enzyme systems in bacteria. Resistance to the drug is poorly developed. Furazolidone is poorly absorbed and inactivated in the intestine. In an unchanged form, only 5% of the substance is excreted from the body.
Metronidazole, being a derivative of nitroimidazole, has an antiprotozoal and bactericidal effect against a large group of bacteria. Addiction to the drug does not occur. Subject to the prescribed dosage, the drug does not cause side effects. The medicine refers to strong antibiotics. Despite this, there are no contraindications to the treatment of poultry and pigs.
The drug is used both for the treatment of pigs and birds, and for the prevention of their diseases. Nifulin Fort for birds is added to the water, as it is a water-soluble powder. In this case, the dosage is taken at the rate of one teaspoon per liter of liquid and is given instead of ordinary water. For pigs, a drug powder of 2 g is added per kilogram of feed and is given to the "patient" for a week.
It is also useful to use during the breeding period "Nifulin-forte" (for birds). Reviews indicate that this makes it possible to reduce the mortality of the brood in the first month of life by several times. For this purpose, the proportion of medicine for birds is observed and is given to adults once daily a week before the chicks are hatched, and then once every week during the breeding period.
Contraindications and Precautions
It is forbidden to use Nifulin-forte, intended for birds and pigs, for other types of animals, especially in the treatment of small and cattle.
It is allowed to take poultry and animals for meat only at the end of nine days from the date of completion of the drug. If forced slaughter was made earlier than the specified time, the meat can only be used for feeding carnivores or for the manufacture of
meat and bone meal.
