Children do not stay young for long, they grow quickly, so soon enough after their birth there is a need to queue up for kindergarten.
The Nevsky district of St. Petersburg is one of the most developing, so the situation with preschool institutions in this part of St. Petersburg will be examined in more detail.
Queuing in kindergarten
At the moment, in order to queue up for kindergartens in the Nevsky District, you must contact either the MFC at your place of residence or fill out documents on the Russian public services portal yourself. And in the first and second case, you need to provide certain documents:
- passport of legal representative;
- birth certificate of the child and the registration form at the place of residence ;
- other documents that may give the right to benefits (a certificate from the place of work that one of the parents is a judge, prosecutor, military serviceman, employee of the internal affairs bodies; a document stating that the family is poor, which can be taken from the social welfare authorities ; certificate that the mother is single, etc.).
When queuing up, be sure to indicate the choice of three preschool institutions, after having previously studied the kindergartens of the Nevsky District. In this case, it is necessary to consider some of the factors listed below.
Kindergarten selection
Now the situation is such that you don’t have to choose (only if you do not belong to preferential categories), you have to agree to the garden that the education department provides. But when applying, parents can specify a priority kindergarten (you can specify up to three kindergartens), in the queue for which they will stand.
It is necessary to thoroughly approach the choice, so it is worthwhile to familiarize yourself with the responses of other parents to different kindergartens of the Nevsky District on forums and children's sites. Reviews, of course, are subjective, but still useful.
In addition, you can go to the nearest establishments on a "tour", see how they are arranged inside, perhaps meet the head, teachers and their assistants. It is better to come closer in the evening to chat with the mothers of children who are already attending this kindergarten, their feedback will be the most accurate.
It is also worth paying attention to the additional classes that the kindergarten administration offers: to find out whether they are paid or not, whether it is necessary to visit them, by whom they are held.
Types of Preschools
Kindergartens of the Nevsky district, like any others, are divided into several types: general developmental, compensating and combined. Let's consider each of them in a little more detail:
1. General developmental kindergartens are needed for the universal development of the child. In such institutions they will be engaged in a little bit of everything: visual activity, modeling, physical education. Sometimes on the basis of general developing kindergartens groups are made with a more in-depth study of some subjects, for example: nature or natural sciences, art or religion, mathematics or a foreign language. Such institutions include kindergarten 101 of the Nevsky district, as well as 102 and 33.
2. Compensatory institutions work with children who have any developmental pathologies. There they are provided with all the necessary assistance: psychological, speech therapy and other medical. In such kindergartens, usually small groups, so that absolutely every child receives enough attention. These institutions also include kindergartens for frequently ill children, for example, kindergartens No. 131, 121 and 103 in the Nevsky District.
3. The combined kindergarten is an institution where compensating groups as well as general developing ones function. Recently, the tendency of children sharing with and without pathologies has been spreading more and more. In the Nevsky district, these are gardens No. 1, 102, 93.
Forms of visiting kindergarten
A child can attend preschool both full time and half. If we are talking about private kindergartens, then there you can agree on a non-daily visit to the kindergarten. How can each of the modes be characterized?
1. Full day is a standard and ubiquitous mode of visiting a preschool. Usually, children are brought at 8 o’clock in the morning, and taken from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., depending on how the particular garden works.
2. An incomplete day (or groups of short stay) is an alternative to the child just staying at home or attending paid developmental classes. In this mode, getting used to the garden will be easier, the child will not feel abandoned by his parents for the whole day. It is necessary to find out in advance what the daily routine for a short visit, as there are kindergartens in which such children are not fed, is simply not provided for by their internal rules. In addition, sometimes it is possible to bring the child both in the first shift (in the morning) and in the second (from about 15 hours to 20).
Alternative to state kindergarten
Private kindergartens of the Nevsky district are an excellent solution for the parents of those children who, for some reason, cannot go to the state kindergarten. Preschool education, although it seems free and affordable, is not always so. The queue in the kindergarten of the Nevsky district is quite large, so you should not hope that your child will get there.
Private childcare
It is best to worry about the device in a private kindergarten in advance. Usually in the summer they lower their prices to attract customers. Thus, if the cost of a kindergarten from September is, for example, about 15 thousand for an incomplete day, then by concluding an agreement in April-May, parents will probably be able to save 2-3 thousand per month, thereby making it already 18- 27 thousand, that kind of money will not be superfluous to anyone.
In the future, perhaps in a year (while the child is going to a private institution), the queue in the kindergartens of the Nevsky District will move, and the child will be able to go to the state kindergarten already adapted and more prepared.
Pros of a private kindergarten
The undoubted advantage of a private kindergarten is the occupancy of groups. Usually there are fewer children in them than in the state, where sometimes the pupils lack lockers or beds. In addition, the attention paid to “private” children cannot be compared with the other: they do more here and invite various teachers and specialists, feed better and more often (sometimes it is even possible to discuss the menu with parents).
Pros of the state garden
Although the state kindergarten cannot boast of a small number of children in groups, it also has its advantages. For example, there is a territory on which a playground will be located (which is usually not in private gardens: their children walk on playgrounds near residential buildings). In addition, children quickly become independent precisely in the “state-owned” kindergartens, since there are more of them here, educators do not physically manage to pay attention to everyone - they have to cope on their own. Also a plus is the constant presence in the premises of the garden of a medical professional.
In any case, the choice remains with the parents: if there is such an opportunity, then, of course, it is better to send the child to a private kindergarten in the Nevsky district. If not, then in some state institutions the child will feel great.
