Cynologist's Day: man and dog

In 1906, for the first time, a kennel of police dogs-sniffer dogs was opened in St. Petersburg , and a school of trainers was organized on its basis. The nursery has become a specialized unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Professionally trained dogs found work during the Second World War: they found wounded soldiers, blew up enemy tanks, were trained to find mines, participated in the pursuit of saboteurs, spies, transported wounded and cargo.

Now service four-legged bloodhounds are worthy members of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Their assistance is important to ensure the proper protection of both state and military installations. Their natural qualities are indispensable for establishing places where any explosive devices are concentrated.

The merits of bloodhound dogs have been appreciated by the Motherland, and monuments have been erected in their honor in Novocherkassk and Novosibirsk. On June 21, 2013, an official holiday was announced - Dog Day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Preparation of dogs for service and the use of tetrapods for military service takes place in the following areas:
